Just need some small monster sprites, like 48*48 at the most for a little halloween project I just started, and now that the engine is 80% complete, I just need some monsters to put in it.
Anyway, a bit about the game, it's a top down shooter with a lock on feature, meaning you move in eight directions, but you target independantly through the lock on feature. It's already got a bunch of blood, multiple weapons, and I'm thinking about calling it Halloween Hellhouse. Just a small project that I'm going to be finishing up tonight and release tomorrow. I'd show you a screenie, but the gfx are pretty piss poor. Oh yes, the monsters could even just be non-shaded line art, but as long as it's from an absolute top down perspective, not skewed.
TGF unfortunately, I will be porting it over to fusion later though.
Game Status:
Just added a new routine in that prevents against zombie attacks, before, the system would target the most dangerous enemy, which was not the zombies, so when they moved in close, you got nailed. Fixed that so that any target that's close to you takes priority over ones at a distance.
Hmmm weird they won't open. It was ages ago I last looked at em anyway cos they suck, but they got half-decent 2D graphics which would just be going to waste.
Ok, as for that llama thing, that just gives me an idea.
List of things I did last night before the batteries in my mouse died:
1. Added a strafting feature, basically hold the / key and you will stay pointed in that direction, provided you aren't holding shift. I may change the control on this in the future, simply because it's a bit awkward at first. But it will be necessary later on.
2. Added a bonus level, think cheesey zombie game for SNES and Genesis (Or Mega Drive)(really, really cheesey) and you'll know what it is.
3. Added Nikodemus monster to the game after a bit of editing, his snake like thing will be added in later tonight.
So, I'll work on this game for a bit now, but I'll have to release it tomorrow, as I lost loads of time by having my mouse die on me last night.
Actually it is pretty similar to yours, cept mine's with monsters and such, and it's about on the level of gameplay depth as Doom1/2 Not really all that complicated. But I keep adding in more and more monsters and such, now it looks like there will be about 4 boss battles. plus 16 normal levels. Also added new weapons in. Unfortunately, the game won't be done for another couple of days.
Why is it in top view games most people on here make everything look like robots. Not to be rude but some of the monsters look more like chairs with faces on them.
Yes, but I don't care, drawing absolute top down graphics is really hard, and besides, I got help from a few different people on this one. Which reminds me, anyone want to cook up some music in midi format for me?
I need like two or three testers, I'm running into problems and just want to know if it's my system. Just reply here and I'll send you a dc mail with a link onc I finish up the current level.
Ok you guys will be testing 3 levels from the game, the first three actually. Just need to know if you run into any crash bugs (which is the problem I'm having), and just generalized comments too difficult/too easy (pfft, not likely), etc. etc.
