Halo 2 will definately outsell Metroid Prime 2, there is no doubt about that whatsoever in my mind. However, I'm willing to bet my left nut that I'll get off on Metroid Prime 2 more. There's just a hell of a lot more to it than run, shoot, duck, repeat. I'll be getting both, though, because Halo 2 will still be a fine piece of work, even if it does use said formula. But, yeah, Metroid Prime 2 all the way.
Metroid is much more of an adventure than Halo. with its giant world system. i think the Halo 2 soundtrack will be better, pointless as this statement is.
mate of mine has just preordered it 'cause his brother gave him £40 after eating his chicken.
Metroid Prime was one of the best games I ever played, although I haven't played Halo. Halo 2 will definitely sell at least twice as many copies as Echoes, since such a significant proportion of the (slightly larger) userbase bought the system for the prequel. Circy's right though, they're quite different games, even if they're both played from the same perspective, so a comparison isn't really fair.
thats the thing about Prime, pretty much everyone whos played it likes it. i was gonna preorder it today but i figured theres no point too many people will be getting Halo 2 to notice missus Aran on that Gamecube shelf.
anyone seen Metroid Hunters on the DS? to be totally honest i could get Mario and Metroid DS and die happy ... obviously after playing them for a bit mind you
I am a big fan of both games, but halo 2 will sell more. To be honest, I don't think you can make a fair comparison between the two games. Yes, they both are set in the future and feature guns, but they are drastically different. Metroid focuses entirely on the adventure and puzzle element of the shooter genre whilst Halo is designed to make you feel like you're just one of thousands in the middle of a massive war. Halo focuses more on the core elements of the FPS genre. To be honest, I think Halo deserves all of the recognition it has received. To place a unknown shooter on a rookie, and rather horribly planned, system like the XBOX and gain enough popularity to match that of brand name triple A titles is no small deed. Now, Metroid, on the other hand I think also deserves immense credit as it is by far the most imaginative and technologically wowing title added to the shooter genre in quite some time. Also in retort to the fan boy Taco; It is rather easy to favor something on the Cube. While I think nintendo seriously needs to change their current business practices if they wish to stay in the game, They always produce incredible must have triple A titles. How many of you will be picking up the new Zelda this coming year eh? That all said, and to answer crystal clear's question, it's going to be Halo 2.
OWNED!
Thanks for saving my time to defend the Gamecube. Though I think gamers pass an all time low when they try to diss Nintendo. PS2 and Xbox wouldnt be here today if it wasnt for Nintendo making the way into gaming itself. Aswell as you dont see as many Nintendo fans trying to diss the other systems as much as the ones who start the big arguement. By simply saying,"My systems better than yours". Im sorry but doesnt it seem a little childish to argue about it. All the systems have some faults none of them are perfect might I add. So just play your system and have fun instead of trying to prove what you have is the best. I think a system should be based on its games being good than if it can play CDs or DVD. Which I already have players to play them. Anyways Im not mad or anything Im just asking that we dont argue about the systems in this thread.
SNES is like the GBA, old school style. I mean now they could make games for the SNES alot better 3Dwise, but its old. Im getting the new Zelda game hopefully when it comes out. Whose getting the DS? I know I am except Im thinking of waiting til christmas and maybe they'll have a black version out.
Im definiatly getting the new Zelda, no doubt about it!
SNES did kick major ass, im getting a GCN USB-Control-Converter for my PC, so i can plug in my GameCube controller and play some good old NES/SNES/N64 games
