I was sitting at free period in school, doing some drawings, and I thought of a random idea: what if we had a board on the DC where we voted for admins? Every Friday (or some other day) the candidates would post speeches and such, like "How they would make the DC better" and "What you would bring to the DC as an admin." Then, at the end of the campign, 'registered DC voters' would vote for the candidate they support.
Good or bad idea?
P.S. How do you feel about Bush winning in the US? Shocking, yes?
Fine Garbage since 2003.
CURRENT PROJECT:
-Paying off a massive amount of debt in college loans.
-Working in television.
Erm, okay...
Anyway, back on topic, TDC isn't a democracy, neither is any forum based website, a#neither is any website I can think of actually. Sure, the admins on this site don't do their jobs 100% of the time, but they're the admins and that's that.
Bush won the US elections, and that's what you get when the voting majority are retards. Are you really confident that this community wouldn't do the same thing? Imagine if we all played silly buggers and voted for billybob.
"HEAR IS OUR KNEW LOGO!! THE BESTEST CLICK!!!!!! now my rules is you cannot vote a games less than 9 stars or you make people cry. if you vote my games less than 10 stars i will delete you and take 10 dc points waay from you. and yuo must all pay $1 to me or i will put yuo in punch it!! 3."
Rules for people being the admin of DC would be ez.
You'd have to be here for atleast say 6 to 12 months & visit more then just once a month, must not what is conciderd a spammer, must but throw hissy fits when you talk to people, & like Larzarus said, must provide a GOOD reasion why he/she should become admin for the week. I think this is actually a really good idea! (Note: DC Points do not count, that would just be another reasion for people to spam.) Also, we should have a limit on the number of people being voted for. 2 or 3 perhaps? Even then, the main admins (Rikus, ShadowCaster & such) will be the REAL people who decide, the votes will just jog there mind on who we really want as the admin.
Eh... changing the subject. I noticed the comment about Punch It! 3 and I got reminded.
I went to Cambridge with my nearly girlfriend (I'm working on her ) and I saw, in the Grafton Centre, this retro games stand. I was watching Punch Out on the NES. Wowee.
Admin of the week would be pretty much pointless since everyone knows that the admin who gives the most bribes will always win it . Maybe something like admin of the year, where one of the rules is that you can't bribe anyone, etc.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Pete: "Yes, democracy for everyone"
Andy: "Great idea. Send $50 to my address..."
Wong: "Sounds good, but it isn't going to work"
ShadowCaster: "It would have serious implications for my facist rule"
Clubsoft: "Shad broke it"
ShadowCaster: "Club broke it"
Rikus: "lol crazy guys"
Andi: "What are you doing here? Come to www.natomic.com"
Circy: "Stop making up quotes, Branch "
Shab: "I'm disappointed you didn't add a quote from me"
Ashman: "This is the [expletive]est idea ever"
Sejj: "What's TDC?"
There are other admins but I forgot them. If you're an admin and I missed you out, then you should've posted more, foo.
hahaha @ FireMonkey's post.
I don't think it will work because you get a flood of user accounts that have the same IP in order to rig the voting. The sad thing is, that's actually happened before with GOTW.
