" I always wished Konami would convert Metal Gear Solid to the MGS 2 engine. "
they did. the result was Twin Snakes. and a very damn fine game it is (played original too)
um... you have to pay to play it? didnt arcades die out years ago? i know theyre trying to crack down on warez but what the hell. suddenly dislike Valve
Erm anyway. Yeah it sucks you gotta activate it online. Believe it or not, there's still people who don't have internet access. I hate all these new anti-piracy measures, they're getting out of hand. Someone will find a way round it anyway, and it's just inconveniencing innocent people.
there will be a crack out for it that works 100% fine. its bound to happen. and what about people who use seperate computers for the internet and gaming, thats a good way to keep a solid/safe games PC but what happens if HL2 is registered to that one internet PC with its crappy 233mhz processor? exactly! bitch fight on coronation street.
"No way I'm paying money for this. Won't spend money for something that I have to register to play. What is this? Feels like Big Brother's getting real, 1984 just got a bit late."
Ironically, one of the subplots of the game is the opression of humans by the combine (nasty people wearing masks)

yeah, it felt fucking orwellian even as i was installing it... and waiting 15 minutes to "unlock" the damn thing.
i don't really care, it was worth it . the installation is frustrating though, as is the need to use "steam". i know valve want to protect their revenue source, but it's a step too far. if you buy a DVD or video you don't have to register it with the movie company in order to use it, the same should be true of games - all digital media is essentially the same. HO HUM. anyway, it's an amazing game.
it must be working too, a quick look for a crack has turned up no results. i always get No-CD cracks and i own original games, makes everything so much quicker.
a guy i know just got some package worth £90... what is the damn point in that? what the hell does a £90 game have that a £35 dosnt?
I'm going to play it at a friends house before I committ to buying it. A lot of uber-hyped and highly reviewed titles this year have really disappointed me. Graphics are certainly impressive tho.
Damn this is a good game! Took an act of God to unlock it on the university network but now I have it's phenominal! I can finally throw badguys grenades back at them!
Why the hell am I on the computer at 1 in the morning? No, don't answer.
i almost went out and bought this today, just beat Halo 2 and i was REALLY dissapointed with the ending. so much so i never want to see it again. but i dont want to do the online register thing... meh. its coming out on Xbox is it not?
Bought HL2 today and I must say it's every bit as awesome as everyone says. I've played for about 6 hours so far, trouble is about an hour of that was loading time. But it's worth the wait. Runs well too, I got all the graphics on high settings in 1024x768 resolution and it runs fine. Groovy and fun and great and nice and bloody cool.
