Could an 'OK' vote be introduced (which would count toward the final percentage) or is it assumed people that don't vote at all (which could be for a number of reasons) basically amounts to the same thing.

I usually only download new games so there wont be any thumbs up or down. Screenshots and filesize along with comments are bigger factors for me. I dont often read the comment fully.

I usually look who's made the game, what comments people have written, if there are any reviews. Thumbs up/down is usually the last factor I look at, mostly cos I know people rather take the trouble to type a comment rather than click a thumb up/down for some reason.

I think a 0-5 scale, like used with articles, is much better. Its too difficult to decide when a game is middlish.

Actually, I think that the thumbs up or down works pretty well, if I see a high %, the game is normally always good when I try it out, & often times the ones with the thumbs down are the ones with no screenshots or extremly bad graphics. I think people have been using it properly.

I think we should grade games by food chain rank. Games such as ED and anything by faind will be rated as 'eagle', heavily outlined platformers and cool little games will be ranked 'fox', and so on until you get to things like Punch It! which receive the 'decomposing maggot' title (slightly lower than 'blade of grass' and 'lump of soil'). People type in an animal whose placement in the food chain is closest to the quality of the game, and an algorithm calculates the exact type of animal that represents it. The system would have to allow for nonsense answers such as 'rock' or 'duck-billed platypus' which have no relevance to anything, yet allow for intelligent comparisons (e.g '6-legged greentail finch') and Latin names ('canis canis' = 'candid camera') to ensure the best hit rate.

Sounds like that system would be easy enough to code in

Yes, so easy to code in that I betcha that they could do it in one day, and everyone would use it more then the system we currently have.

The food chain voting system sounds a little complicated to me. A scale of one (poor) to five (great) would suffice. I just think a thumbs up, thumbs down is a little too clear cut.

i think being prompted to vote as soon as you have clicked the link is a stupid idea, i normally vote thumbs down because i havent played the game yet, and my experience says all click games are shit.

I've never seen someone devalue shit so much. (There are a fair few good click games, it's just that they're so easy to make that you get so much rubbish.)

I usually only download games on the first two pages to see whats new and exciting in click games And yes, the thumb system does help and it does aid in deciding whether or not I want to download the game

And an 'edit preview' button would be nice, too (since we're talking about DC improvements)...

Yes, an edit preview button suggestion has just been submitted for an idea for improvement just before you posted, Mr Beers.

Oh, and:

Was it the irony of giving 'Punch It' such a prestigious status that made you laugh, Circy?
