Those of you who have XBox's, post your XBox Live Gamertag, region, and what game(s) you play. Since we all interact on this site anyway, I think it would be a lot of fun to play on XBL with people that I sort of feel like I know already. Who knows, maybe we can even get some clans going.
My Info
Gamertag: "Rampant Mjolnir"
Region: United States
Games I Play: Halo 2, Dead Or Alive: Ultimate, ESPN NFL 2K5
I don't have an XBox because 1) I would never have anywhere to put it 2) the controller is too big for me to ever have a chance of playing it 3) micro$oft are teh evils
Lol XBOX has the worst designed controller ive ever seen, one question to have Xbox Live do you need broadband? or do you just have to buy that XBOX live thing?
I agree the XBox controller sucks (both of them). Like my friend Dennis put it, "the xbox controller is like the Dreamcast controller's fat sister!" Still, the system has an awesome online component, and any console Bungie develops for is OK in my book.
[edit] Yeah, you have to have broadband. That's the nice thing about XBox Live. No 56Kers lagging the place up -- tho some with crappy DSL still slow things down once in a while.
ZOMG!!! WELL DONES ON YUOR INTELLIGANCE!! NOW WHEAR DID I PUT MY SERIEUS POST ????
I still find the small controller too big for my liking. I don't need an XBox because (Halo aside) there are very few games which I want or can't get on PS2/Gamecube. I will say that XBox Live seems to be better (just compare Star Wars Battlefront on both and see which version is actually playable) but it still doesn't draw me. Plus, I don't have the room. HAR HAR HAR.
Agreed, I hate the XBox pad. The Playstation pads are by far the best, small, comfortable and have everything you need accessable easily.
I don't really rate Halo as high as everyone else does, I mean just about every good FPS on the PC is better than Halo, and all the games I wanted in a console were available on the PS2. Got GTA:San Andreas yesterday by the way.
Sorry, got a bit off topic there.
I agree with trev and firemonkey. When my mate got his xbox and halo ages ago he called me round to play this 'incredible' game, and to be honest i though it was just an average FPS, many a PC FPS can beat it. I thought it was quite boring IMHO. Its also got be the most severely over-hyped game ever IMHO.
He was really impressed with their attempt at bump mapping using something that looked like a 64x64 texture .
I can not comment on halo 2 as i havent played it ...But I hope its more fun to play than the original.
I have Halo 2. I haven't played single player but I play Multi player in a clan. It's a good game, but as has been mentioned, not nearly as fun as PC FPS's.
I play Joint Operations on the PC and I'm getting the expansion for it. Very fun game. 150 players can play at once.
Even BF 1942/Vietnam on PC are better than Halo/Halo2 or any other console FPS IMHO. That being said, it didn't stop me from buying Halo 2 and joining up with my online friends and their clan lol.
anyone seen the unofficial Xbox and PS2 mini controllers? they look very snazzy indeed
IMO, the cube has the comfiest of controllers. it just fits oh so well
The only thing that could possibly improve the GCN controller is if the left shoulder button were raised on more of an angle, because curling your finger in while moving your thumb upwards can give you a cramp over an extended playing period.
are you two crazy? GCN controller is terrible, better than the 64's though . The XBox controller could devour your hand whole . Anyway...I laugh when people say Halo is the best game ever, hmmm...everyone at my school who has 8th period off and spends it playing yu-gi-oh and magic wants to kill me now XP
As a boy, I wanted to be a train. I didn’t realize this was unusual—that other kids played with trains, not as them.
First off, I have to agree that GCN has the most comfortable controller. That said, the S controller for the Xbox is no more than 10% larger than any other controller. As far as the PS2 goes; it does technically have the best design, but the analog sticks are overwhelmingly un-responsive. I don't believe halo to be an earth shattering title residing with the great FPS's of the past, but it was a great mix of FPS genres on a console system executed with a sleak style. I'd still play Perfect Dark in a second any day though. I did finally get around to picking up Halo 2 and it is pretty good. The campaign is fun and the multiplayer keeps the game alive long after you've finished the single player story. The only thing I didn't like was the new optimatch system. I like the matchmaking system just fine, but if you make a custom game of your own, no one other than members of your clan or short friends list may join you. Aside from that little snag, it's not bad.
Gad dammit, you know how bad you can get into trouble for bumping topics over 1 month old?

Halo 2 wasn't as amazing as I expected in singleplayer. Infact the singleplayer was lousy and crap. I just played it because I kept thinking something good will happen soon or something like that.
But Multiplayer that's a differant story. If you haven't played Halo 2 on xbox live, then you can't talk salami. It is so much fun.
And talking about controllers, I love the original xbox controller. It fits perfectly into your hands. I don't really like the S controller much, especially when the button layout is differant.
I found that the original Xbox controller was too big and the S controller was too small. Best joypad ever designed in my opinion has to be the Dreamcast, its comfortable and fits my hands perfectly.
The Cube controller is great except for that damn Z button. It looks like they just stuck it on as an afterthought, you have to more your finger into an awkward position to press it.
The PS2/PS1 pads have too many buttons and the buttons are too close together, plus as other people have said, the analog sticks are awful.
