Hello, I was wondering if anybody could rip some sprites for me from the GBA game "Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town".
I am working on this game: http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=4814 and it's quite alot of work to rip alot of these sprites. It would be helpful if anyone could tell me a website to download HM:FOMT sprites or rip these sprites:
* Any animals with walking\running animations
* Jack using the axe or watering can
* Any civilians with walking animations
Your pretty damn lucky. Thankfully I haven't deleted the sprites after I scrapped HM: Murderer of Mineral Town. I'll email them to you sometime in the next day or so.
If you load the ROM with Visual Boy Advance you can view and export sprites, palettes and backgrounds

Thank you very much OmegaUltima.
Kris - I have been using VBA, turning of layers and screenshotting. But I didn't know that you could export sprites and stuff. I will try that now, thanks.
I also use Visual Boy Advance and am having trouble ripping sprites out of Castlevania Circle of the Moon, which in my opinion is one of the best games ever made. Can u post here or DC Mail me how to get these sprites? Id really appreciate it and put u in the credits for any games made with them. Thanks!

Basically you run the game, and then you go to Options>frame skip> throttle. And set that to a low value. For example if you set that at 25% then the game runs at 25% of the normal speed. If the action is still to fast then you can pause the game and keep pressing ctrl+N (next frame).
Once the emulation is slowed down you can then turn off layers by holding ctrl and pressing any of the numbers. Or go Options>Video>Layers.
When you find a sprite you want then just press alt+print screen. Or using Chris' method: Tools>OAM Viewer>(find your sprite)>Save
Ah well. I've sent the faces of the characters to your email address. If anyone else wants it too you can email me for it. But there are a few character's missing and I still need to organize the walking sprites etc. I'll email them to you when they are ready.

Thanks, those sprites will be very useful once I write the talking code.
Odd, I thought this was real good to know you could export sprites so easily, but the OAM viewer option (and most of the other options in that menu) is disabled. That's really odd! How can I enable it?
get yourself a big bag of new nice fresh lives and make your own graphics and get yourself original game ideas! If anyone wanted to play harvest moon, they'd just buy themselves a gameboy!

Except Aggggge, if you build an engine you can then change the game to how you see fit. Would you buy the Gameboy version if you wanted to play Harvest Moon as a mmorpg?
