From a bulletin by Jeff of Clickteam:
"We at Clickteam have been closely following the community responses to our products, the creations, praises and complaints posted online. Detecting a common trend of confusion, Clickteam has decided to go "back to the basics" with the release of Klik and Play 2. 'The average user looks at, say, The Games Factory or Multimedia Fusion and literally gets bombarded by menus upon menus of choices. While this gives more power to skilled software developers, the average consumer, whose support we desperately need to maximize our profits, absolutely loathes freedom and complexity. He just wants to make a subpar Mario clone without having to worry about alterable values, INIs or fastloops. Hell, most of our current customers don't even bother to fix the bugs in the built-in movements,' said Francis Poulain, Financial Director of Clickteam. Klik and Play 2 will feature a more streamlined interface, replacing the messy events grid completely with the new, easier-to-understand Step-Through Editor, as well as decomplexifying many of the software's additions from The Games Factory onward. "Twenty-six alterable values per active object? What the hell were we thinking?! And INI's? Back when I played games, you had to beat them in one sitting or lose. None of this fancy-shmancy saving. And fastloops, bah! Kids today need to be more patient. It builds character," DT Holder, Special Projects administrator was quoted as saying in an interview that will appear in an upcoming issue of Wired. He hopes that the new iteration of Clickteam software will both attract a new audience and help current Clickteam users to appreciate that games need not be complex to be fun. Following this new policy, the announced projects of The Games Factory 2 and Multimedia Fusion 2 have been put on indefinite hiatus, with company support for previous products expected to be withdrawn later this year."

I hope that this needs no explanation.

I was wondering why the press release was so unprofessional, well you beat Cassatas lame attempt at a prank.

Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?

I was well prepared for any attempts people came up with.

I saw one once at vgmusic.com where the owner put a fake fbi warning that he had been arrested for posting game music illegally for people to download. It got me for a while.

Maddox's april fool pages are much better, not to mention the inevitable flood of emails from idiots who don't know what day it is. I'm glad I didn't come to look at these pathetic excuses for jokes a few days ago.
