www.clickteam.com

There's a 30 day demo of Multimedia Fusion 1.5 (it never acutally expires). It's the newest version of the tools 99% of the people on this site use.

I think that there's quite a huge distinction between a demo and an illegal copy.

The games factory will set you back about £10 if you can find it in a shop, or you may find it on the coverdisk on a magazine.

Multimedia fusion is more expensive (£50) and is only available online as far as i know.

Klik and play is free, but it is a little lame in comparison with the two above apps.

I got my free copy of The games factory pro on a magazine, the magazine cost £5.99. Bargain.

This kind of reminds me of RPGinfinity giving away RPG Maker 2003 and RPG Maker XP. I have a TGF from like 1995 or something and I downloaded MMF and it's just TGF but more complicated, so I deleted it.

If I wanted to get serious about game making, I'd learn flash script... Don't mock, because I have time and time again and tried to learn flash script

but to answer the question of the topic:

if I'm thinking about what you are thinking about, this link would be it

Check it out
(these people are too obsessed with MMF to know a good program)

Why? Don't you know that Far Cry was programmed entirely in Flash.

Odd. On the link page it says:

"Multimedia Fusion create exciting interactive applications with a mouse-driven interface - this is the one I use (WIN)"

Idiot.

@Jake Jilg:

Right. A mac user and you use your parents >>PC<<.
First of all, Mac doesn't work on PC's. They work on Macintosh computers, which are different from pc's in every way.
Also, how could you have opened TGF and MMF if you have a Mac?

'or something and I downloaded MMF and it's just TGF but more complicated, so I deleted it'
This is a perfect example for my essay about idiots.

'actually I've never heard of Far Cry.' Impossible. Have you been living under a rock?
'with a dialup connection' Yeah so?
'draw your own conclusions' Ok: Idiot.

@Jayjay:
I recommend you use Multimedia Fusion, or The Games Factory if you want a simple start first. It's pretty easy to make games with these apps, what really makes it hard, is your own fantasy. It might sound lame, but it's true
I don't recommend Gamemaker. It's not really good, unless you know how to handle it. I've seen some good games made with it, but not of MMF quality though.

In the end, it all depends on you it is you who chooses the program. Just try some programs, and eventually you'll find the program just right for you

Josh, you need to think before you go around calling people idiots. He said his own computer is a Mac but he uses his parents' PC as well (assumably to run PC-only apps)
