Has anyone else had all these ideas, but can never seem to get any work done on them? Any work on anything klik related? I have. Anyone got any ideas on how to keep working on something?
My problem stems from three things.
1. Lack of GFX - This kills so many of my projects, I'm getting better at spriting; but I'm still no artist.
2. Poorly though ideas - Not having planned anything out, I attempt to "freestyle" a game, only to have it not work the way I wanted, cause I didn't plan anything out; was a vague idea to begin with.
3. My coding improves - Which means that the project I just spent months working on is now a steaming pile of turd in my eyes, cause my coding has moved so far above it.
3a BUGS! - Crash bugs have killed many projects of mine, both versions of hellhouse (the top down doom one, and the Smash TV style one) I'm mostly pissed because these crash bugs are not my fault, as there are no active object leaks, and they tend to happen at arbitrary times (non repeatable), this is unfortunately, a problem of the medium I use (TGF). But I do have a tendancy to push TGF for all it's worth.
well that's me! i always get these really good ideas, i start making the game, i know how it should be done, but i never finish them, and then i start on something else.
but sometimes i just force myself to only work on one project, and that's when you see more stars appearing under my avatar
Everything Shab said, except replace #1 with just Animation, I'm not great at animation plus I'm lazy. I've especially always had trouble with walking animation, but I've got a bit better recently.
I'm thinking of trying out Dark Basic, once I'm done with SS3. Cause, there's some ideas I have that wouldn't work out with MMF (in fact, I'm not sure if they will work out with Dark Basic EITHER). Tilebased level editing for example.
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
My problem is that I have unrestricted access to the Internet from this computer (my University room), so forums tend to distract from any MMF work. When I'm at home I get far more done.
Not clicking is what being a clicker is all about.

I just lose interest after I complete engines. It's probabley because I don't have a good artist that can help me. So I have lots of engines, but no levels or graphics.
Walking animations are the downfall of so many of my games. That and the ninjas from my school that sneak into my room and delete things off my computer while i sleep at night. Its all true.
"Actually sir, we found a tiny unicorn in your exhaust. It was jumping around poking holes in your gas tank." "Oh thank you I did not know that. A tiny unicorn? Wow."
I always start a game, do some graphics, some engine stuff then convince myself it's a rubbish idea and I give up. If I had more belief in my abilities I'd have a whole host of games by now.
I work on a game and then stop because i think it's boring.
Clicking is only fun when i know what i'm working on is going to be fun to play when it's finished.
I guess i don't want to spend 6 months working on a game for people to say "That was okay but a bit boring" I want it to be as good possible.
Also laziness plays a part.
I simply cant make games, im an app guy. Saying that ive done fook all lately. Dunno carpal tunnel or something *shrugs* i have about 6 assignments to hand in over the space of 3 weeks :/
I get ideas for games, good ones. And i make them too complex for myself (straightforward shooter gets material based bullet penetration - impressive yes. But its too much) Also if you had to fix the bugs ive had in iPublish 2. Youd either be dead from suicide, or crying in the corner, i pushed MMF quite hard
I have a lot in common with you guys for sure ... heh ...
Im pretty lazy, though my will tend to be greater than my lazyness.
The great trouble is really I loose interest in a project after a while. That happens with anything in my life, not just clicking. I even get bored using my computer from time to time. And its really annoying me I cannot keep the interest in a subject long enough.
That being said Im currently working on an app which I just will not give up on, as it is an app I would like to use myself. So ... maybe there is a way
