I need someone who's very good at creating a platformer game. Things I expect:
*Intimate knowledge of making Platform games in MMF
*Intricate knowledge of making AI Players (As in, platformer players which act like any other player but controlled by the AI.)
*Knowledge of Sonic games
*All transition DLLs (Ovine Rubber, SirFlo, Fade Collector), Save Game Object
*Willing to work with me
No need to do ALL the work unless you want to. I will provide help and resources if needed. To open the CCA file inside, you must have all the transition DDLs, the Save Game Object extension and the Fast Loop Object extension. PLEASE HELP!!!
Maybe you could try making the platformer code yourself.. it's not very hard, even dummyes can do it . Even if you are an artist you should be smart enough to use mmf. If it was c++ i'd understand you divide the work. But when it comes to MMF you should give it a try to make things by yourself.. if you go around asking ppl to make a ball that moves using the cursor then you'll never learn. That's the fun part, making something and having fun. And when you have something done that looks nice you bring it in here.. but you wont get too far by being the lazyest bastard in the universe seriously, i mean.. god damnit, platformer.. how old are you? if you are too young to understand simplest of all physics, maybe you should try a colouring book instead!.... anyway, good luck with your platformer game. And remember, life is not all fun, when you work harder, the reward will be bigger, if you don't work at all, you'll just want bigger and bigger and bigger things, until you become like britney spears, now we all agree she sux right? you don't want to become like her..
It's not really the fact that I'm not experienced enough to do it, it's just I don't have enough time to do it!
Well, okay, admittedly enough, I could do a custom platform engine for this game but an AI engine is bit beyond me. I've given up trying to do one as I'm just not good enough I guess. I really don't have time to implement a full AI engine on EVERY level either. (Though if I had one ready to go, I guess I could make time to do it, it'd be worth it.)
Then again, I'm not I wasn't really shooting for a traditional Sonic engine. Let me explain...
The kind of custon engine I was looking for was one that would eliminate basic platform bugs found in the built-it platform engine. (Yes, I know, that was lazy of me, which is why I said I could do it now. ) But right now I'm content with the current platform engine. (The level layouts were designed around that engine...) But if you download the game and play it yourself....you'll find out that implementing an AI engine is very difficult cause you're working with players only a few pixels big in size. Meaning usual detectors would greatly overshoot what they're supposed to do. (I should know, I've tried, many, many times.) I can't do it...I need help. :\ Which is why I'm asking here. This requires something like advanced math, somehting I've always been flawed at....
i find programming platformers really hard, im not very good at programmin tho.
I had a go with that Platform object last nite and its really easy to use, but im still having problems with it.
Then tell me what I should use. I'm looking for the "Computer Opponent" type of AI, the one that runs and jumps very much like the player. How do I make an AI like that...?
Sonic engines can be ridiculously complex for the amount of fun they give. I'm not getting near them.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.

Extensions that will help:
Move Safely 1\2 - for "overshooting detectors"
Platform Movement Object - If you need something besides the built in engine (which you do)
Platform AI is about as simple as things get, smack in some alterable values for jumping, use collision masks so they dont fall off, add some random direction changing etc. and that's it.
at the risk of being boring if i could reply to the original post - are you asking someone to make a game for you? if so then i guess the answer will be NO (unless you are prepared to cough up some dosh)
to start press any key ...... where's the ANY KEY??
