How often should I run these? Also, suggestions for future comps will be taken here.
And yes, chicken, I know you want a fighting game comp.

We should host them every month. Or every week, because then we have more entries for the GOTW.
I would like to see a board game mini comp, or a puzzle... acutually, a fighting game would be cool too. Sorry for being so indecicive.

Maybe one a month during the summer. Give people more time to work on their submissions, though. I probably wouldn't do this RPG thing again, even though I'm happy with the results.

yeah, well the original idea was to make an RPG battle system, but then I'd figured I'd get everything from platformers to space shooters, all claiming to be battle engines. Yeah, the next one will be something different entirely, I'm still thinking about that dating sim comp just for kicks.

And I think you should have them every now and then, maybe something like.. 1 every 2 months or something......Expect the dating sim, that should be right now.

How about a compo where we have to make a finished MMORPG with over 100 areas in just 24 hours?
just kidding...
How about a retro arcade compo? People would be required to make an retro-style arcade game( like really old galaga or pacman with 8-bit color and 8-bit sound only). The games can be remakes or totally original.

I think my favourite mentioned idea is the 2-bit color idea, as an artist i find that to be the most interesting challenge suggested so far.
I also think that even holding the comp every month could get old after a while, i think to keep it interseting and to build up some anticipation before the event and have more entries, something like every 2 months would probably be plenty.
oh and one other thing i forgot to mention.. someone suggested having it 'once a month in summer' well.. considering summer is at different times all over the world then Its probably not the best idea restricting it to (i assume american) summer, what if you want to enter during your say, japanese or new zealand summer?? anyways, thats enough rambling.
