I have taken a big break from klik, and I now want to make a game again. But, I'm finding it hard to start again. Does anyone have any tips?

Just do something you enjoy; that's the whole point.

Just start with whatever you were good at in the first place. I started getting back into klik with a remake of my first game. It turned from an action/RPG to the most detailed turn-based strategy game ever attempted. Pretty much a thousand times tougher to code.

But hey, it's fun. I started slow, now I have a really huge idea on my hands. And that warming up is enough to help me get motivated for other projects.

Making sure you enjoy what you're making is important, also to not try out too many different projects at once. I have and none of them are ever going to get done unless i concentrate on one.

I say you make a little mini-game or something quite simple. Make a couple more (or just little short easy projects)and add in different "features" like hiscores in one, then later on, figure out inis to make really good games, then just keep building up. When you think you've got enough experience (again?), start working on something big, but make sure you're satisfied and do something you love and enjoy.

Figure out something that would be excellent for you to play or use (if it's an application), Spend weeks on kinking out the bugs and just developing it. Show it to your friends and see if they think it's good enough to post. Then just sit back, relax and watch someone shoot you down. not mentioning any name...but it starts with a C ends with ata and has ass in the middle
