I had an art trip to london yesturday, when we got there our school told us to come back right away. Got to see loads of policemen, police cars, and police boats. I feels sorry for the people at the explosions
It actually mad me feel really sad when they said about amputations on the radio i was listening to. Its sad that such innocent people would be maliciously killed or had to have an arm or leg amputated and have their entire lives changed in a matter of hours.
I heard a little bit about this in the HWFans.com board, but I didnt hear much, what happened? I do know quite a bit of people died, but how? What happened?
yea, on top of the deaths and injurys, they suspect that a considerable amount of damage has been done to the subway tunnels
i guess al queida is punishing the uk for siding with us americans
this whole war is outdated, this is just like the revolutionary war- they used the field, face to face combat and lost to the british, then they invented the wuss-hide-in-bush combat
we need to fight secretively, just as al quieda is fighting us
My sincere condolences go out to the families and victims.
You're a retard for getting your news off a Hayley Westenra fan site, even more so for using the tragedy to promote the site. Go to cnn.com or ANY news site. God forbid you might actually turn on the TV or radio.
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
JP, shutup & dont act like a prick, I got the infomation by looking at an Off Topic Discussion post. I didnt even know about the accident before then, because I only watch the news when ever it just happens to catch my attention, & unforiently for me I saw it in off topic post before I got to see it on TV or on the internet. So dont jump on my ass because I mentioned my indirect source. Leave your comments to yourself. Oh, & FYI, it was not to promote the site, it wasnt even on the site itself, it was an off topic thread. God forbid you should ever shut the hell up.
Anyway, no matter where or how often, its always sad to see stuff like this happen. The only planet within thousends of lightyears with known life & yet we still resort to blowing each other up. Its a shame.
I've heard about this from the TV. I was only listening though and not watching. I heard that one of the bombers accidentally blew himself up. On top of what Batel said, that's as much as I know about it.
Any normal person would go look it up in an obvious news source instead of going to another forum and writing that you know nothing about what happened but heard about it on another message board. I guess checking the TDC is more important than current events.
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Yes, it's all very horrible. First I heard was a phonecall from a relative. My cousin in the background was shouting about the french bombing london. I turned on the tv and watched for a few hours. It's absolutely disgusting.
I'm not being a dick, It pissed me off that he cheapened the tradgedy by flaunting his ignorance of what happened and mentioning his favorite singer. If you were already online and genuinly cared about the bombing, why would you post "what happened" when you can go on google and type "london bombing".
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
phizzy i just knew someone would say they may not have been innocent. Well i think theres a good chance that alot of them are/were.And Jp stop causing arguements there was no need to start that whatsoever.
JP, you were cheapening the trajedy by starting the fight. What you said was incredibly pretentious. You tried to make yourself sound superior to Brandon simply because you found out about the attack from a different source. This always happens when there's a trajedy like this, people always argue and put others down simply because they know ever-so-slightly more about it. I don't think Brandon was trying to plug a website/singer, either.
It's not a pissing contest about who cares more. I didn't point it out for the hell of it, I was genuinly suprised by the post. I'm not critisizing him for hearing about it from a different source, but that he could have extended his knowledge before coming to the daily click. In the five minutes it took to write a post about how the haley westenra fan club forums didn't give him any information, he could have got the information, then come to TDC to express his sympathy.
Noodle - I was not referring to prices, cheapening can also mean degrading. There is no bandwagon, just because I utilize the english language to offer an appropriate sympathetic response does not mean I am not serious. To me "Hats off to the people who died yesterday. " is not befitting.
Steve Zissou: Anne-Marie, do all the interns get Glocks?
Anne-Marie: No, they have to share one.

""My sincere condolences go out to the families and victims" - who the hell are you? The president? Get off the bandwagon right now JP. "
Who cares? He feels sorry for the people who died, and that's all that really matters, is it not? It is 'retarted' if you get the news off a site like this one and not checking it with the real story by a news website, otherwise you get mangled veiws and incorrect info (not that doen't happen with the media and such). Thankfully there wasn't much details to be screwed around with with this story.
By the way, it would be nice to have one topic (even one as tragic this) not be reduced to a flame war. Just for once?

I know what cheapening means JP - I was simply being fecetious (spelt wrong I know). I was simply pointing out that it is in fact impossible to "cheapen" a tragedy. Tragedies are immune to cheapening.
"An appropriate sympathetic response"? To whom? That response was purely for the benefit of The Daily Click - a token condolence with no value. If you're really sorry send them some money or sommat.
I feel for the families. Some still don't know about their loved ones. And the bodies may be buried under wreckage down in the underground (subway).

Shall we not argue amongst ourselves children, espsecially in a topic such as this. No need for the "I care more!" attitude either.
Personally, I think we can count ourselves as lucky that more people didn't die. It could have been a whole lot worse. The emergency services were great and the reports I've read all cite the "spirit of the Blitz"; all the Londoners helping each other out and all that. If anything this terrorist attack will have hardened our resolve. The attacks hardly came as a surprise either: we'd been sort of expecting it to happen since 9/11. Still... quite hard to believe.
I work in London and left the tube at liverpool street 15 mins before the explosion (but so did thousands of others). Things were pretty hairy here with lots of false rumours flying around and stuff. People are still quite jumpy and there's still been a few bomb scares, but most people are back in work today.
I wonder how this will effect the US/UK relations. Most of the UK (and a good portion of the US) hate Bush. Do you think this will just stir things up more? I think it will just tick everyone off...somemore.
Fine Garbage since 2003.

My hate for terrorists and extremists is over the top. 9/11 was bad enough, these several other attacks poised around the world are even worse, yet to attack on such a time (Live 8, winning the Olympic Bid) where London was portrayed a very happy place only to wake up to chaos, is terrible. If they could just find those fuckers and end this pointless torment then we could travel without fear and continue with our normal lives. They just need to die, keep a few alive for constant torture to find other shit like those whacha-ma-callit of mass destruction, if they exist.
Nobody react to what I say, I'm in a bad mood with those cunts and don't need do-gooders like Noodle thinking I'm being offensive. Don't know how I am being offensive (except to terrorists but they can suck my huge dong) but people do find a way when you talk like that.
Btw Noodle, seriously STFU.
"My sincere condolences go out to the families and victims" - who the hell are you? The president? Get off the bandwagon right now JP."
Since when did you have to be the president to say that? That is a stupid comment and I really think you need to shape up for such a pathetic statement like that. Anyone can says what JP said, it's not like he can't give his sympathies.
It's people like you with an attitude to think that the world revolves around you, everything you say has a tone which points towards your over whelming ego and how you think you are that extra bit more important than the others around here. Stop acting like such a prick and pretending to be funny. I really hate to tell you this in this thread but I had to sooner or later.
I suppose I offended you now, wouldn't be surprised.
Get to know that damage could be easy tripled if I had lust for CB's 4'th track on their album "push the button"...
Luckily, for as I know, And I'm pretty mean it... I might feel painful inside to say, that it's mostly the Israelis' fault... For years they had decisions in their minds to make our world better, but so many seems (apparently, it seems) to lost interest today for many different reasons... Get to know how could a simple hate or hostile pharse or quote of my'n in any random website on the net could make a disaster, since I belive in the so called "butterfly effect".
I know that I might be responible for several terroryst attack in my country simply by posting a sarcastic story on an Israeli site for literature and art, A story that laughs about the whole case of terrorizing and it's case... Instead of helping the needed I was laughing at other nation's compulsion... Someone might read it or hear about what me, Yair Israel Charutz wrote, Someone might got upset and then decided to pull a refile, blow himself with explosive belt, or throw juggernuts on armed soldiers and innocent citizens...
Since I've heard and might even seen that the power of word could be even stronger than a good beat... Sometimes it starts by a singel word, or an in-appropriate body gesture, So you can mostly blame me for your world troubles...
I know that if I'll stand purposely in a fitting place and say the "right" fitting words to the "right" wrong people, a futuristic disaster could be happen, if not today, than 5 or maybe 10 years in the future... Basically, just for saying these pharses, an some ships of your national army (or if I got "lucky" enough even a vacation ship full of cheerful hedonists... man, woman and children) A sailing ship that might be exploaded and sank into the sea leaving numerous numbers of death cases... Yes... It could be done even If I was smiling to someone, inviting him to drink glass of apple cyder with my...
If you feel the same, That you can make such effects on others only by words... I am actually sure that your wrong, and this is still my own fault, I assume you are actually have no ways to influence the others except saying something that has been said before, directly to them and it still caused as a response to things that iv'e might saying and you are actually repeating the echos of others... Sort of another turnover of pharses only that the words that has been said by me caused the fundamental effect here... Remember, for hurting my feelings, more disaster should be caused just for things I'll do or gonna feel due to that... Totally my fault... If your mates was there, I just did another wrong thing... I tell you... Causing someone to curse me even if I'm cheerful that day, and I can consider it as a fault of my'n that leads to more disasters... My risponibility for world troubles increase for each person I help or cheers... For every good did if I ever had one, And i've been excpect to be more trusted... So making a mistake here has a bigger damage.
Also, I will admit again. As same as usuall, For a weird reason I feel no mercy for the kills... I might feel deep anger inside of me like I use to feel when a disaster happen, an anger that is moving me to hurt these who are still alive just by saying that they were diserves it!
Im very happy we won the bid. I hope they do us proud. If it gives me a heart attack like when i saw buckingham palace lit as the unionjack, then ill be happy. I tend to only watch the olympics for the opening and end shows hehe. Wonder what london will do? Marching soldiers? Football hooligans? hmmmm

It's fun to screw around with the heads of insane movie fans (the Harry Potter forum is great. These people need help. It's amusing.)
Anyway, I don't agree with everything Bush has done, but I think that if Kerry was elected we'd all be dead.
The problem is we're fighting a war that is impossible to end. If we remove Osama Bin Laden there will just be another Osama to replace him. The Middle East has some serious problems, and I don't think anyone can fix them.
He's not very articulate either. A Bush quote: 'They misunderestimated me'.
But at least Bush hasn't wavered in his opinions...
Fine Garbage since 2003.

I'd hate to turn this into a political discussion topic, but what's wrong with wavering in opinions? When a new bit of information is revealed to you, it is important to re-evaluate your opinions and take a different stance on a topic. One of the (many) problems with Bush I believe is that he doesn't do this.
