A program thats just finished on BBC 2 (i think) about taxidermists? It made me angry, im not one to be a vegan or never stand on insects, but it pissed me off.
I didnt watch the entire thing, but towards the end it showed two annoying guys going out into the african bush and killing a gazelle and a monkey. The gazelle was butchered and hung and the monkey was tied to the back of a truck and driven down a muddy track to where the gazelle was hung.
This was all to attract a leopard, which was killed for its skin. In the morning, when the hunters found the leopard, it showed them looking so amazingly proud and nearly in tears saying "oh how beautiful" and all that shite. Then, one of the guys was interviewed, and he basically said how he liked to "give life back to something that once lived" which is bascially what annoyed me nearly the most.
THEN, at the annual 2005 taxidermy championships, the leopard wasnt even ready on time to be entered. It made me angry to see such a waste and to see such evil methods. The program basically followed the taxi-gay-stuffers around and watched them as they shot and killed the animals, ready for the championships. May they go to hell i say.
I had it on for a bit, then I had to turn it off because it pissed me off too much. Then I watched the Top Models thing on Five, and that pissed me off too. Kate Moss, greatest model? Gimmie a fucking break.

You're right to be pissed off by these people. I'm not a vegetarian by any stretch of the imagination, nor am I about to waste time campaigning for animal rights, but that sort of thing is just ridiculous. I'm glad I didn't see it because it would have pissed me off too.
I just realised - the only people who have a problem with man's inhumanity is mankind, and if mankind just accepted then men by nature are inhumane then there really isn't a problem because animals can't object. Simple.
Noodle - That’s pretty much a circular definition, and just because you can't object doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem. I'm pretty damn sure a mute getting his nutsack gnawed off has a problem with it, even though he can’t object.
That's the brilliance of the human brain, that we can feel what others are going through, at least, you should be able to. That part of my brain I feel is waaay too stimulated, sometimes I have to leave the room during Seinfeld when George gets in an embarrassing situation. I can feel it, I can feel other people’s pain.
So really we're going to have two classes of people, those who can empathize with other living creatures and are humane, and those who can’t and are inhumane. The first class would kill all you inhumane people but we're too soft.
Anyway I just feel it is within our capability to look out for the little guys, and our responsibility to do so within reasonable limits. Killing humanely for food is nessicary because I like stake. Killing leopards for MasterM's underwear is not.

no, i do not like noxious gasses, in fact, I cant handle strong smells. This prevents me from going into candle and floral shops, beauty parlors, and many public bathrooms.

@JP: But, therein lies the problem with the human brain - if we didn't have this empathy imagine how technologically advanced we'd be! If we all ignored these messages from the brain, we could do what we wanted to people and never feel guilty. And let's face it, the only reason we don't go around doing what we want is because of guilt. No empathy, no guilt, no problem!
