This is the wierdest thing ever! I can remember long ago when I had to make 30 sprites just to make a unique and UN-uniform scenery, I got tired of doing this so I only used basic sprites again and made my games uniform just like a n00b . Now it seems like it was overnight because now I never have this problem and are loading compleate external levels from one file (zip extractions) from pics to code. The only problem now is that when I go to make another game, I want to make this same engine (takes 2-3 hours) just to create a game that does not need external levels. But I just can't go back to my old habit. Over-all, this is a very good thing because now I have more/easyier customizability*! And can also distibute low kb levels fast and painlessly to make extention packs and paches/updates. I became a better clicker overnight!
I wrote this article for a couple reasons. First to explain my wierd "habit break" and "Click improvement". The other reason is to make people relize how much better and customizeable your games will be if you use this engine, and hope more people will use this in the future.*hint-hint*
If anyone needs any kind of help with sprite mapping, backdrop loading, loading animation from bmp's, or (my favorite) external code loading,(usually for patches) then I will help them.
I hope that this article will soon spark the idea of external levels and hopefully soon finally have a full working emulator created in MMF.
