I don't know if any of you know how to make extensions, but if you do could you PLEASE make an extension that can get pictures or video from a webcam or DVC cam hooked up to your computer. If anybody knows how to do this without another extension, that would also be even better.
Most of you have probabaly heard of EyeToy for the PlayStation 2, but I don't have a PlayStation 2 so I figured I could try to make something like that for the computer, exept maybe better, I might even make an engine for that if it works well.
Yeah, there is one in the making. Dunno how much is finished, but there has been a version that can put the video data into the window. It was just a bit (a lot) buggy, lol.

I have heard that there is one in the making, but I haven't heard anything about it, and I forgot my password to the CT forums and I changed my email, so I can't get it. I will create a new account soon, but if anybody knows anything about their extension, that would be great, and getting a picture on the screen is all I really need. Thanks for offering Dustin, If the webcam object was abandoned or doesn't work or something, it would be great if you made one.
Better than eyetoy? In your wildest dreams! If you can't make an extension, you've got bugger all chance of making a system that interprets information presented through DVC!

I was allowed to beta test an early version of a webcam object, so it is in the making. Last I heard from the designer, it's in the private stages of testing, but apparently is finished(?).
I won't tell you who's designing it, cos when he gave me the beta it seemed like he wasn't keen on people knowing and pestering him to finish it.
I think I know how to make a system that actually figures out where you are, even if you are not moving, I call that better than eyetoy. Of coarse, something might go wrong and I might not be able to do anything, who knows. I cant wait till the webcam object comes out, if somebody could DC Mail me when it comes out, that would be great.
