Mode7 really isn't that bad, it's just that it lags like hell, even to view something really crappy
And klikopenGL is... well... it's too complicated for the average klikker
Isn't MMF2 going to have some sort of built-in 3D engine?

If MMF had scripting, you wouldn't have to use it. Just because I can add macros to Word documents or do mail merges doesn't mean I actually use those functions. MMF bascially executes as a load of If statements nested in a big While loop at the moment; the ability to access that script in a Basic-style language is a logical step in my opinion.
Mode7 is fine, it is just REALLY hard to make a game with it, and no matter how hard you work you still will not be able to achieve a game that is like the games you buy in stores.I want to create games a little like those, well, almost that good.
I don't think that the 3D plugin will come with MMF2, but I am pretty sure that are making one. Didn't they show that at one of the click conventions (I think it was 2004)?
I know I don't have to script, it's just not what I would add. I think that would take clickteam awhile to make a feature like that, that time could be spent on other features. Also, you can already code in MMF through extensions. The only way scripting could be helpful to me is if it was C++ or something and I could use more of the ActiveX stuff (a lot of the ActiveX things that I have found don't work with MMF).
I don't know about antbody else, but I think it would be really cool to make 3D games and (I know this sounds odd, but some companies do this) 3D Applications. 2D games are fun, but get a little dull after awhile.
I reloaded the page about once a minute.
I hope I have answered all your questions, remarks, comments, insults , ect...
Anyway, I'd also like MMF to have more features for applications, but since I know nobody else cares much about that, I guess I'll just forget about it .
I hear Gamemaker uses a scripting language, look how much you all love that. Also Jamagic has scripting aswell, and it's sales are through the roof.
The option would be nice, but pointless.
thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.

klikOpenGL is great! And it looks much better than Mode7. As for scripting, the main function I would find that useful for is a situation like this:
You have 10 actives, called Active1, Active2, Active3, etc...
You want them all to do something in one line of code:
yeah I got one - MMF - when you want to import an active object from another game they are so tiny you can't see em properly (unless you have named them exactly) - it drives me CRAZZZZZZY
to start press any key ...... where's the ANY KEY??
a better built in platform engine so you don't need to spend so much time making your own.
3d support would be very nice especially if you could simply use the event editor to manipulate the 3d models, jamagic is hard to use because it's a completely different thing to MMF and TGF (what little i saw/used of it) Having the already familiar event editor would be brilliant.
And maybe a built in music maker like ejay or something.

Scripting would be really nice. Also, possibly a better animation editor?

The idea of scripting being in TGF/MMF 2 i don't see happening:
"5) Are there any plans to run script actions in TGF 2?
No. We do not want to make this. Scripting is one thing and MMF/TGF is another. "
That was from the Click Convention 2005 from "Francois".
Tigsy created FISI or CFISI i think it was called? which enabled some scripting abilities in MMF, but to create a complete scripting extension for MMF would be too much trouble for what its worth.
I really like Metal Maiden's idea, i dont know how possible itd be but that would be awesome.
"Copying and manually re-ordering triggers in the event editor and hunting for the right box in a grid of two hundred active objects is fucking awesome enjoyment right there. "
I'm pretty sure in TGF/MMF 2 theres gonna be a Find function and maybe even a Find & Replace for the event editor, i remember hearing it somewhere awhile ago not sure if its happening or not.
