Well, after vuzzupp posted that "Need program for graphics" topic, I realised that I needed a good program for audio, like game music and sound effects. I have a MIDI keyboard, but I haven't found any good programs that are under 200$ that are any good.
What do you use?
I just use ModPlug Tracker. For sound effects I use unlikely instruments and some effects on them - for example, a "spring" sample is a bass guitar with a fast portamento up.
Well I'm not sure if this is what ur looking for, but I use a freeware midi program along with my mom's keyboard.
The program is called Anvil Studio. It's fairly basic, but it has the nessecities to get the job done. You can download it at http://www.anvilstudio.com/. That it all.
Ive used anvil studio, and unless you actually play the piano then you dont stand a very good chance.
Mod PlugTracker is the best ive come across and alot of people here use it (from what i know) Its extremly easy to use and there are millions of samples, tutorials, Mods ets. stick with it, Its the best you can get for free!
By a long way the best MIDI program I've used is Cubase SX 2. It does audio too.
(There's SX 3 as well but I found a working cracked version of SX 2 for download)
