Hey all, I was bored for a few minutes & thought of a small little game idea. After working out the details, I through it together. Personally, I find it pretty additive & a friend & I were compairing highscores over the internet for a good hour, so it must be atleast half decent. Tell me what you think.
How To Play:
The rules are pretty simple, the objective to the game is to score as many points as you can, by moving the mouse up and down in a completly streight line. Your not allowed to move so much as 1 pixel to the left or right, or you lose & your score is reverted back to 0. In addition to that, your score will not go up, as long as you are in the little diamond, which fallows you everytime you change direction, forcing you to move atleast 100 pixels either up or down, before you start racking up points.
FAQ:
Q: What is that line fallowing the mouse, and why is it moving so choppy?
A: The line is a guide line, you can use it to keep the mouse in place, incase your eyes wonder off. The reason it moves a little choppy is because everytime it refreshes, its marking a new game, if you jump off the line.
Q: Why is the Xana sign, from Code Lyoko, in the top right corner, over the score?
A: Its a water mark, incase you decide to share scores, it makes it harder to copy your score, I picked the Xana sign because it would cover up larger scores, as they came into the middle of the sign, and make it harder to produce fake scores. That and I just like the way it looks.
Q: My highscore wont save for some reason, why is that?
A: If your using the Vitalize copy of the game, it might not save the INI correctly, and your score might not be able to be retrieved. If you want to keep your score after you close the game, download the Executable file, otherwise, the Vitalize download was only there for those who just wanted to try it in the browser, & not actually download it for keeps.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the game. Tell me what you think, I'm interested in knowing. On that note, feel free to share your scores, I'd like to see how high people are actually getting.
I thought it was a little easier being vertical, expecially with like the way the mouse is shaped & all, but not everyone thinks that. I might make a different version later down the line of people want it.
A higher resolution would turn down the need for turning directions, taking away some challenge to the game. Because turning you mouse from up to down or vice versa, makes it easier to slip & jerk over. This wasnt a planned idea, but I'm not going to turn it down. Makes for a good challenge.
Here's my score:
Nice score, as long as it wasnt a cheat, I bow down, because the highest I ever got was 534. Friend of mine got up to around 800, but thats about it. Good Job.

I have some suggestions to knock off the cheats.
-Make sure the app always has focus
-Fullscreen, not so it changes the resolution, but so theres a black frame around it
-Disable clicks outside window
-Have the mouse stay still for 3 seconds when you start the app
-Detect if the mouse has moved X pos at all
-Disable all buttons besides alt, f4, control, and delete
That would get rid of most cheating things I would know of. However, most of those were pretty extreme, and should only be implemented if you want total security... for a five minute game.

Yesterday, a few minutes after I uploaded the initial release, I had re-uploaded it to avoid the game from scoring points unless your inside of the window. I am actually thinking of making this into a full blown releasable game. This is a great way to get peoples oppinions how ever, so keep them comming. I'll be taking as many as I can get. I'll take alot of those suggestions into concideration Peblo, if when I do actually come to making this a full blown arcade game.
He already did, & I suspected it was a cheat, but I wasnt going to go overboard. Anyway, just so you know Daniel, you can go alot higher, by just moving the mouse up AND down. Meaning once you get to the bottom or top, just reverse! Once you get out of the diamond again, then you will start getting points again.
Guet a ball mouse, take the ball out, and roll the y axis up and down till you'r bred out of your life... should make some 8883849288347872387478334.98 points. lol
Profile edited as it messed the layout of the site up.

I made what Phizzy is talking about, except it reconizes colors, so it goes exactly the distance of the window. Omg, no need for feeble calculations either!
