Anyway, I'm not looking for an argument here. I made my preference clear as to the subject topic, just as everyone else has. Each to their own.

An extract from Novasoft's Link on Herbivores:
"I believe a few sharks, hyenas and piranha would like to have a word with us about who's ahead of who in the food chain. Additionally, most herbivores like rhinos, hippos and gorillas could easily kill a human being, if provoked. These animals are also ahead of us in the food chain."
Rhinos, Hippos and Gorillas are behind us in the food chain, because we have far more intelligence. We don't have to use brute force. If they were ahead of us in the food chain, why are we making them extinct?!
And I think you'll find the amount of sharks and hyenas killed and eaten each year by humans far outstrips the number of humans killed by them. Go to a Chinese restaurant and order shark fin soup.
Don't be an absolute nitwit Ryan. I respect your beliefs and that, but that page is all absolute fabrication and propaganda.
Furthermore, our teeth are shaped to eat meat. Refusing to eat meat won't save any animals, it will just lead to overproduction, which leads to a lot of fine meat being thrown away. Hehe.
The true factors in determining food chain position?
I'd really like to see a 'man' with no external weaponry attempt to kill a shark with only his body strength and bare hands. The thought is hilarious. How futile, weak and pathetic (and also amusing) a sight that would be.
The slaughterhouse 'workers' who you support do not kill the animals with their strength and fists. They use weapons of torture and brutal industrial machinery.
YOU do not eat the animal flesh raw from the bone as true carnivores do. You carefully select the bits you like, then cook them to eliminate the bacteria of death which your guts cannot digest. A lion is a mighty predator, it kills only what it needs using skill and strength and will waste almost nothing.
Axel:
Did you know that one acre of land can produce 40,000Lbs of potatoes or 250Lbs of beef? Hardly resourceful use of land, is it? And they question why famine exists in third world countires? Cruel, unproductiveness on our part.
Why is this topic always defended so aggressively by meat eaters?
Is it because you know that by your purchases you are funding something despicable and downright cruel and you don't like to be reminded of this?
Are you capable of thinking morally?
Do you realise just how horrific the hell on earth conditions of slaughterhouses are?
Do you understand that animals feel every emotion as equally as humans. Terror, grief, and pain?
You sacrifice compassion for satisfaction and that is truly pathetic and undefendable.
Nothing more strongly arouses our disgust than cannibalism, yet we make the same impression on Buddhists and vegetarians, for we feed on babies, though not our own.
If your mind cannot be swayed by images, documents and videos which clearly display the evil you fund, there is something amiss in your outlook and logic.

How can it be so terrible wrong and evil to eat meat if we have been doing it for all our existance on this planet. Your ancestors did it. You're made of it. Humans cannot live without eating meat. At least not without taking pills to replace all the necessary resources we get from meat. And does that seem natural to you?
I disagree (with Novabrain, but agree with Axel) humans are natural omnivores in exactly the same way pigs are.
And since when did an animals brute force become the only factor in deciding how far up the food chain something is? It has never been that way. For example, ants can kill birds and big insects, yet by themselves they are harmless.
I'd really like to see an 'ant' attempt to kill a bird with only his body strength and bare hands teeth. The thought is hilarious. How futile, weak and pathetic (and also amusing) a sight that would be.
Sure meat production may be unproductive, but vegetarians are all weak, pathetic, small-minded fools, so you can see why we need to eat meat. Where else are you gonna get your protein from? Nuts? You'd have to eat a whole tree of them.
And by the way, your argument about the unproductiveness puts a point forward about the effectiveness of factory farming. If we didn't do this, how unproductive would we be then? We'd be killing all those little Africans, in some obscure tenuous way.
Don't feel you have to comply with this fable that a 'diet' containing meat is the only way to remain healthy.
No one I know who refrains from gorging themselves with parasite laden flesh has any health complaints.
A vegan and even vegetarian lifestyle is the most beneficial and rewarding anyone can adopt.
The problem for most is a lack of willpower and stubborness, or blatant ignorance.
Remember... The person who refuses to kill an animal is more of a man than the person who chooses to kill an animal. Compassion maketh man.

I skipped most of Novasoft's and Noodles posts, because vegetarian arguments are boring, not to mention we've already one that amounted to 7+ pages of stupid flames.
