Well, I was just lookin' for more o' them games for my ol' DS, and I wasn't real impressed by anythin' that they done got in that list o' there's. I was in da neighborhood and I decided t' see which o' dem DS games y'all like. I done got m'self copies o':
Super Mario DS
Ridge Racers DS
Yoshi's Touch and Go (It's done call'd somethin' different in dem non-USA places)
Polarium
Mario Kart DS
Pac pix is Okayish
Nintendogs is fun for its graphics and interaction values
Zoo keeper, despite being put down all the time is actually quite an addictive puzzler
Animal crossing is good
Mr driller is pants
WAIT! WARIO WARE TOUCHED! it uses everything, microphone, touch its awesome. easy to complete but you can get toys to play with and random things like that. I highly recommend that game!
Mario 64 DS
WarioWare Touched
Ridge Racer DS
Project Rub
Yoshi Touch and Go
Kirby Canvas Curse
Another Code
Sonic Rush
Nintendogs
Mario Kart DS
Animal Crossing: Wild World
Polarium
Wario Ware touched is brilliant all rounder.
Bomberman is an excellent multiplayer game, up there with Mario Kart for sure.
Nanostray is a really difficulty but very playable top-scrolling space shooter like Ikaruga (However you spell it) only with more levels.
Advance Wars is a killer. It's very addictive, the music and graphics are perfect for it too.
Nintendogs was fun for a bit. I'm more a night player so I don't wanna be calling out my dogs name when everyone's asleep.
Animal Crossing cannot be faulted. I've never been so addicted to a game before. I play it everyday trying to get myself a plasma TV
Mario Kart. well. we all know about that.
Tony Hawks DS is the best TH game I've played since the first game. It feels so basic unlike the big console versions. It's true to the series and has a pretty good soundtrack. Has the most online features (download decks made on your computer, new goals etc).
Sonic Rush IS the best new sonic game I've played. not as good as my favourite though (Sonic 2 Mega Drive)
Kirby is very good. Its a huge game and really uses the touchscreen. Plus the first Ravine level song is beautiful, IMO.
My sister has Yoshi's Touch n Go which is pretty fun to play but only if you can get it very cheap.
Damn, why did that bitch of a girlfriend have to buy me a PSP. I'll goto her house, steal the reciept and get me a DS and some other games. When she asks about my PSP I'll just say LOL OWNED!
NO! PSPS ARE BETTER. I have them and ds's are good yes because of touch screen, Animal crossing etc But a psp feels more special and expensive when you own one it sounds silly but its true.
I don't know how anybody could rate the PSP better than the DS. the DS just has crap loads of killer games for all ages, and has the most diverse in genres. Sure its not as good looking as the PSP but really, a gold plated diamond encrusted Gizmodo would still be a crap machine. aye?
Throw in there the best ever control system for an FPS (or rather the simplicity of a console shooter with the better aiming of the mouse) and its set.
I'd like a PSP (my motto for the day) but at what it costs now I think I'd rather get a GP2X. At least there's that whole MMF exporting thing that I'm sure I heard about. But the PSP really needs games. without games its just another pathetic excuse for a Nintendo handheld competitor. UMD's are just like buying TV shows off iTunes or downloading DivX's rather than buying the full DVD. you miss features and the overall video/audio quality is lower... and you're paying more for that.
Speaks volumes Phizzy. I'd consider having the box and the things that you don't download as part of its overall quality. Maybe that's just me though, I see value in owning the original over downloading a few files. But yea, quality, if you're downloading a US TV show/film (whatever Firefly is) then isn't that encoded for use on a US TV with their standards? I don't know the guts of it but my lecturer imports DVD's from america and says the quality is a lot lower. Which is why he's waiting for a Cowboy Bebop UK box set. something to do with framerates if I'm not mistaken.
I like psps purely for the fact that they have really nice sharp graphics, The menus are nice and theyre fun to play around with. I love the ds, dont get me wrong but i find it really painful to hold, the square corners dig into my palms and leave imprints. They also cut my circulation off now and then and I gat frigging pins and needles.
Heh, Jimmi entered Scatwell (Animal Crossing) and he was very generous... giving me lots of presents. Although he did say that he felt he possibly shouldn't be in my bedroom...
He left, I went to join his town, but for some reason I couldn't actually connect... oh well, we had a merry old time.
Buy Animal Crossing DS if you can - even if you have the Gamecube version.
The PSP looks cool, but it's almost twice the price of the DS, and It doesn't have any good looking games. The whole web browsing thing sounds awsome, but I have heard from many sources that it is slow, unreliable, and a lot of sites don't work on it.
Really, it's all oppinions. The DS is definetly the console for me, but some people may think that it's completely obseleted by the PSP. No one system is actually better. I like the DS for it's innovative technologies and creative games; but some people don't care about things like that and want, uhh, whatever the hell it is that the PSP's got.
"and It doesn't have any good looking games". yes, that really is your opinion there. Like the DS its needs a chance, Im very sure a good range of games will be available very soon. Tokobot for one looks good, similar in effect to pikmin, rpgs are being developed, man dont be so quick to judge the console just on its release game range.
The new DS looks better than Psp and current DS in my opinion.
Ive just got a Ds, £99 pound with mario kart ds and i bought sonic rush too.
both are fantastic games,
sonic rush really is a very good game. The only downside i can see is that there are an unbelieveable amount of bottomless pits that you go flying down because you're trying to go so fast.
The music is bloody fantastic, the first zone is my favourite so far.
and at last i can play my gba games with a backlit screen since i own one of the old gbas
Nanostray-
This lesser known game was THE reason I bought a DS. I love shmups and still play Blazing lazers, Gates of Thunder, Lords of Thunder, etc. on my Turbo Duo/PC Engine nonstop. Although you dont get weapon upgrades in Nanostray, you have 4 weapons to switch between. Each weapon has a different shot pattern and shot radius. So the stradegy of switching weapons and knowing when to use what one keeps the action frantic. Yes, it is a very tough game. But, like Lords of Thunder if you spend some time with it, it IS possible to beat. I also like the fact that when you fight the bosses if you tap the radar on the touch screen it scans them and shows thier weak spot. With easily IMO some of the best graphics and music (If you like good techno)on the DS its still one of my favorites. There are many other games like Meteos, Avance Wars DS, Mario Kart, etc. Bet eveyone knows those games are good
Nanostray is excellent. Picked that up when there was rumours of Shin'en going bankrupt, wanted to get me one of those sought after rare shmups. But that was a dirty lie and it's hitting europe now or soon.
I'd say Mario 64 DS is better. It's just got more. the characters add a real depth to it, plus its closer to what Shigsy originally wanted. You all probably know but Mario 64 is only 80% of what Shigsy wanted, he had plans for multiplayers, star road-like system and loads of other bits to make it perfect. but he dropped them! Mario DS is supposed to be a little more of that 80% with the multiplayer and extra characters like. but still. its a good game and I'm a little pissed at myself for rushing through it (all stars) in 2 weeks.
The minigames -barring Luigi's- really add a lot more to the game. they're addictive as hell. if hell was addictive.
