I don't really understand the question, if you mean the picture of the active object then you could always try and screenshot the active. If you mean save the active object's position or something, you can use inis or arrays etc.
I guess he means exporting all the whole object data (position, values, directions, current anim. number) + all the frames of each single animation, saved somewhere in someway that should be re-imported later.... maybe.
Saving all the datas should be simple using inis, arrays, or datastore2 object.
No idea about exporting frames and animations, sorry.
ps - what the hell are you making?? ^_

Ok... here's the deal... Im making a map editor for Vollo Voyage - Rain of Chaos. The game has been requested as an mmorpg...
So, to make it easier to add new characters and such to the game it would be nice to be able to load the objects (NPCs, Enemies, etc) from external files... Simply to speed up the creation process and the size of patches...
The easiest would be to be able to load active objects externally.. however that seems impossible.. The alpha channel has one flaw... You can't change animation data (length, speed, looping, etc) from external files... Hope this makes it clearer what I want... Thanks alot for at least trying to come up with Ideas! I relly appreciate it
