"why would anyone want to step over that little fence behind you where there is adequate space to the side of it(?)"
When I was in the Ukay last year I saw those fences with pointless steps alot. I guess the Brits just fancy them.

I haven't seen any of them. Although saying that, I don't live near anywhere where there might be some.

I think the reason you haven't seen any Joe is because you've only been to the countryside about once.
They're called "stiles" (sp?) by the way. They're there so animals can't get over and stuff, and also motorbikes can't get through.
And Hayo, whereabouts int' Ukay you go?

@Noodle: I went to the caving club in South Wales, but saw lots of other Ukish places on my way there from Dover, driving on the wrong side of the road and all.

Which part of South Wales you go? My mother used to live in South Wales, in fact in a place called St. Mellons which is near Cardiff I believe.
If you want some real caves, get to Derbyshire and go to places like Castleton...

Hmm, it's already a year ago and my memory is a bit hazy when it comes that that period anyway, but I do recall seeing cardiff. http://www.swcc.org.uk/images/powell_st_2b.jpg
Thats the caving club cottage I went to, nice place near a quarry. Also for REAL real caves I prefer places like France and Slovenia

Im half polish... ANYWAY I say thats wrong, The blue-ridge mountains have some AWESOME caves- Luray caverns They're nick-named the Show-caves of the world. The main cave also has a stagpipe organ, beat that.

If you ever visit Norfolk, you will notice it's very flat. And boring... So you'd be best off not.
