Ok i know it is legal to mod a app/game if you have bought it. But does the same go for freeware games. AND is it legal to mod a game made with tgf/mmf. In that case you could legally change the application info, etc.
Any1 know?

Click games are difficult to mod, unless the creator has designed it to be modded. This is due to the nature of all Click Game's files being internal. I think it's illegal to mod just about any type of game, because you're breaking some sort of small printed law about not modifying code or parts of it, but that's not going to stop anyone.
I don't really think anyone would care if you modded their game.
Ya modding is legal.(must own a copy of the game)
Its actually quite easy to mod a click game. (ESCPECIALLY tgf games) As for mmf parts of it seems to be encrypted for some reason. KNP games being the easiest of all 3 to mod.
Anyway, I don't think there's a way to mod a Klik game if it isn't designed for mods. But you should know that using Resource Hacker to change stuff in a game, then redistribute it isn't allowed.
well if hes a good enough author then he'll just leave the .gam file to be edited! and Rockstar ain't a kliker

Hex editing the app is illegal. Ever read the license that comes with these games? It often says you are NOT allowed to hack into the exe itself.
If the creators made the app moddable, stuff is done around the exe rather than IN the exe, so that is legal and allowed (otherwise they'd never add those modding apps anyway ).
I don't think it's legal at all with Clickteam games - even if you manage to get the authors permission. With properly programmed games, I don't think it's legal unless you get express permission.
If you keep the assets outside the game, you're begging to have it modded Personally i like it, nice to know people are interested enough in your game/app to change aspects to suit what they want.
