Because dude, I don't think it's possible to say any genre is 'too easy'. There are reasons not to like adventure games, but I don't think that's a valid one. If that is your only problem, you're probably only playing poor examples.

"They just aren't challenging enough."
Sounds like a legal reason to not like the genre in general. Some people are not chalenged by "just pointing and klikking", others are, so to me it's not really about easy or difficult.
Personally I do like a lot of point&click games by the way, especially the lucasarts ones and the discworld games.

I've given an example of one that's challenging no matter who you are (actually so did he, I think). "Not enough action" is a different reason, and a totally valid one.

DING DING DING!!!
With my addiction to action, I seriously wonder why I love Turn Based Strat so much. That and RPG's to a lesser extent (Example: I haven't played a Final Fantasy game that I've liked {Main FF games; Tactics Rules})

Best genre: Survival Horror, I just love to be scared by games.
Worst Genre: RPG for, I hate the fact of fighting 43 times and crap to level up and the hack n' slash ones...*yawn*.
I like games, and I love GTA!

Best: Haven't really got a fav one, but I like open ended games or games where you have more than one option of progressing... Stuff like Deus Ex, Freelancer, The GTA games. RTSs are also great.
Worst: Myst-type games where you basically click on a couple of computer generated photos and 'solve' incredibly boring puzzles. I also don't really like tradition-style rpgs.

Best: Probably platform, fps, or rts are my favorites.
Worst: Tied between football/baseball games, card games (except solitaire), fmv, and interactive fiction

Worst: I was gonna say RTS (because the strategy part is kindof lost in real time imo) but I remembered that my disgust for sportsgames like "Fifa whatever-the-fuck-year-it-is" far outweighs that of my dislike for RTS's.
Best: Platformers, everything ranging from the on-a-rail layout in Mario/Megaman-games to the exploration of Metroid/Castlevania, and I love'em

People always describe Castlevania as an exploration game like Metroid, although the Castlevania game i had on the SNES was just a set of levels (as far as i remember). Can anyone tell me which game(s) from the Castlevania series are like Metroid? (Gotta love Metroid)

WORST: Sport
BEST: RPG
By a route obscure and lonely,
Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named night,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule
From a wild clime that lieth, sublime,
Out of space
Out of time.

@Nick - The Metroid like Castlevania games started on the Playstation. Ther was only one for the PS1 though, and that was Symphony of the Night.
Following that there were 3 GBA games,
Circle of the Moon
Can't remember this one
Aria of Sorrow
There's one for the DS and the second one for the DS is coming out soon, and it looks like it will be able to topple Symphony as the greatest castlevania.
BTW the super NES one was probably Super Castlevania 4; I consider it to be the best of the old school castelvania's.
