I need to know cause this is the most annoying thing. I would just convert the backdrop to an active object , but the backdrop is 640x480 pixels.

No, you can't put an active behind a backdrop. But maybe you can tell use what you are trying to do, and we can help.

If you have MMF, you could use a Background System Box object and make it look like an active object. (try looking for articles on parallax scrolling, it'll show you how) The downside is that animations have to be done manually.

Yah. I can just think of the possibilities I can have with that for Mr Stump's Dentures 2. Just imagine in a platformer, playing through a level, walking through a doorway, and then reappearing far in the distance, in the background, and continuing through the level.
