Hey guys, just wondering if you help me out with this annoying problem...
Bought a mb a few months ago, only to discover some new gay graphics card slot that doesnt allow for agp cards... So I waited until today, when I went and purchase a pci express card... and that damn thing doesn't even fit in the slot.
So there's more than one type of PCI express slot/thing? How the hell do I know what video card to get? How do you discern one type of PCI express vid card from another if there is no distinguishing anything on the box (like voltage or pci express 2 or anything??)
I hope you guys understand what I'm asking, its just all a bit confusing for an old man like me
just return both mobo and graphics card and get a mobo with agp on it. if no you could always check the manual for the mobo and it will tell you which type of PCI-E slot you have.
There are several types of PCI Express slots, and a PCI-E card will work in any slot that is the same size as it is or larger. The size is denoted by x1, x4, x8, etc.
PCI Express is a strange name if you ask me. The word "Express" puts in mind a sort of cheaper PCI slot, like Tesco Express. Or something like that.
