I need to make it so when animation plays and active1/active2 collide, subtract from *this* counter. I can't seem to figure out how to put this into an event...
I also need a movement A.I., but that's a little difficult. -.- and don't call me a n00b. It's my first time making an engine, so i'm confuzzled.

I can help you with the first one, you just sets the event:
When Object1 collides with Object2
+Object1 animation "attack" is playing
Subtract 37 from *this* counter
For the secound one I guess you need "professinal" help.

You could make a simple enemy A.I. where the enemies come at you by doing this:
Always -> Make "enemy" look in the direction of "player"
Sure, you should do some more to it but that's an easy one.

For help with creating the AI, it'd help if you described what type of movement you wanted.

Is it a realtime battle engine, like 'Secret of Mana' and 'Zelda'? Or is it turnbased?
Dumb question maybe, but i just wanna be sure.

If you were to do a turn based, you could create a list of moves for each enemy, and then add to each move the frequency of attack, and anything else (if the enemy can only use it on certain conditions (i.e less than 1/5 health remaining, use a super-charged attack).

It's basically like secret of mana, but it's not in the area. You run into monsters on a map and it takes you to a battle screen. Thus meaning i'm not doing turn based...
Thanks Jakob. And i need a full movement A.I, not just an event for directions. I don't really need anything but a random movement A.I, joe. It need to basically run around the screen in any random way and stop every once and a while.
