It was reverted little more than 11 hours later. I consider it one of the greatest klik games, and considering it got 2nd place in the GOTW #100 then surely others do as well.
Now, what are others opinions on this? Should TNB be on the Klik page or not?
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
Sorry, Noods and I have been keeping a close eye on that page since so many dickheads want to fag it up for self-promotion.
I think the last rv (07:38, 18 O) was a little overzealous though, and somehow some advertising has crept in, so I just fixed that. I'm not sure about TNB, but I think it probably is popular enough to merit the addition (though not because of GOTW100, that means jack shit).
As the page is written, the criteria is popularity. If you think a game is popular enough (THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW MUCH *YOU* LIKE IT), feel free to add it. If you're retarded about this, someone else will delete the addition, so go for it.
The whole page needs to be rewritten, but at this point nobody can be arsed. Just don't fag it up worse than it already is, add some game based on how much you think it deserves it as opposed to actually meeting that criterion, or add some shitty website nobody but you has ever heard of.
-TNB is probably okay.
-Lyle is popular enough for some reason.
-BnH probably isn't.
-I'm OK is really well-known, so yeah.
Add I'm OK to the list if you like. Fishhead, I don't know, maybe? I know currently it says "famous within the community", but it would be nice if we could keep it limited to games well-known both inside and outside the community, since the article isn't for us in the community; it's for everyone else.
I'm OK certainly counts, but I don't know how popular FH3 got.
If it's really just based on popularity Fishhead 3 should be there, It appeared in 5 mags, is listed on about every freeware site and I am still getting loads of mail from people outside of the community about it (omg maek fish head 4, omg send me sheet music for fishhead 3 ect).
But on the other hand popularity is retarded and Fishhead 3 is not very good. Just like I feel Bernard&Hank is nice but just lacks the smooth movement and variation to be a click classic.
The list of online games should be there for 1 of a couple of reasons. The first, these online games aren't getting any kind of mention, just because they're online. The second would be, a list of online games made with any kind of CT Software would show, without just mentioning it, that CT Software is actually capable of making online games. I admit, we aren't trying to advertise MMF2 here, but my point still stands.
Exactly the point Brandon, if these games aren't notable enough they don't deserve their own mention on the page. People can still access a list of MMOs with klik, so it's obvious that CT products can make these games.
They aren't mentioned because very few klikers actually try out the online games unless they are on the front page. They are still worth mentioning within their own category. The amount of work that goes into making an online game, and have it turn out half way decent, is pretty high, that alone makes any FINISHED online game, through CT software, worth mentioning.
PS: It's a very small list that matches the page just fine, it's about the klik community, so lets show what the KLIK COMMUNITY made! You don't OWN the page, and why you feel the need to make it your domain is beyond me. Just let it go.
Like Radix said, the criteria is popularity, and how popular a game is has NOTHING to do with what YOU alone think. And right now it seems like you're the only one who wants those games there.
Fine, you guys want to get rid of the list, do right ahead. And no Phizzy, as much as you want to think that this is all just for my own benefit, it's not, so let it go. I don't really care if the MMO list is added, I was pushing it because I think it's a worth while addition to the list.
The section is about the klik community, but the fact that 2-3 people have say about the entire page and limit 98% of all the stuff that various parts of the community wants to add, just makes the page not worth having in the first place.
Why does'nt Mr Rikus or Mr Clubsoft make a poll for everyone to vote over how the KLIK WIKI PAGE is developed. The poll options can be gathered from people's opinions over what they think should happen. But only like the top 5 opinions. Like 5 portions of fruit and veg a day? k? k
Brandon, according to TDC your IP is 67.165.101.*
According to WP, the IP of whoever made those stupid "MMOG" edits was 67.165.101.219.
In "USA Clickers" ( http://create-games.com/forum_post.asp?id=170945&s=0 )you said: I live in USA, Pennsylvania.
According to http://ws.arin.net/whois/?queryinput=67.165.101.219 that IP corresponds with Comcast Cable Communications, IP Services PENNSYLVANIA-8 (NET-67-165-96-0-1).
(Just for everyone that doesn't know how IP addresses work: Brandon's ISP owns the 67.165.*.* range. We also have the first (or first two, depending how their system works) part of the host identifier (.101.*), Brandon's subsection of their IP range. The odds of it not being him are miniscule.)
Obviously 67.165.101.219 is just you before logging in, probably so you could claim you weren't self-promoting.
The IP 193.63.48.48 probably isn't you, at least directly, but the whole thing is suspicious.
Ok, I was hoping that you, out of all people, Radix, would be bright enough to catch this, but I guess I was mistaken.
The very first time I made the MMO list, I added a bunch of random klik MMO's that I knew about, including ArcaneTale. The second time after the list was removed though, I re-added it but I only had added THREE MMO's to the list, NONE of which were mine, which ment that ArcaneTale was not on the list. After seeing the list removed again by Boothman, I then re-added it exactly as it was, with only the three games on the list. Afterwhich I came here and replied.
Soon after replying to Boothman, Phizzy accused me of using the MMO list to advertise my own game, and then someone (suspecting Phizzy because of his perfect timing), added ArcaneTale to the original list 2 times, and to the MMO list 1 time. (Which if Phizzy didn't add it to the list, would give him a reason to suspect that I did it.)
The person who did this was under the IP address 193.63.48.48 which need I remind you is NOT me, as my IP address is for a fact, 67.165.101.219 as anyone with more then half a brain can see, if they visit: http://www.CassataGames.com and noticed the link on the logo.
After that was made, I REMOVED ArcaneTale from the main list (the one with ArcaneTale added 2x), but decided rather then removing it from the MMO list, I just added in "(In Development)" to the side of it. Which would have lead you to believe that I added it to the list, but if you would have looked farther into the page history, you would have seen that this is not the case.
You show so much intelligence Radix, so you obviously had the capability of looking much farther into this entire thing. So why you didn't is beyond me. Perhaps you just didn't feel like defending me in front of Phizzy? Again, I have no idea, but I am innocent to an extent here.
PS: Speaking about suspicious actions, I would assume that you would find the fact that Phizzy, blaming me for using the Wikipedia klik page for advertising, and then suddenly discovering before ANYONE else, that ArcaneTale was added to the list 3x, and not even using the correct domain name, and replying, again, before anyone else, as "proof" that I was trying to use the page for advertising, slightly suspicious.
I admit that my 'original' intension had some attempt at advertising in it, but after having read your reply on the discussion page, I decided not to do this, and just add 3 mmo's that I found particularly popular through the klik community.
Reading comprehension, too. I didn't say it was you, I said that most of those edits are yours and the whole thing is pretty suspicious.
Because of course there's no way you could possibly get ArcaneTale added to the list from a european IP somehow right after coincidentally creating a list for it to go in. No. There's definitely no way of doing that on the internet.
And for someone who RAGE RAGES about how that horrible phizzy added it three times (that's not his IP either, mr. pot calling the kettle a nigger), you seemed quite happy to let 'his' addition stay.
Whether it was yours or not, the guideline for these things is to keep the hell away from anything relating to yourself. Regardless of who added it originally, you on a proxy or someone you know in amsterdam or some random person, leaving it in and then modifying it is an endorsement.
Alright, well I'll leave it at that, and I wont touch the page unless I have something important to add, but even then, someone else might get it before I do. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't being accused of something I didn't do.
PS: The more I thought about it, the less I thought that Phizzy added it to the list, but I can't change past posts, so I was left trying to back myself out of a hole. Sorry about that.
