What are the steps? I've been working on my own for so long, and I've found that I am really not well versed in click code. I could really use some help.
I'm willing to help someone, but in payment, I want a good engine that I'm too lazy to code myself. Heck, sometimes I'll even help someone if the game requires an engine I'm planning to code anyway. But either way, the game has to be something that challenges me enough, none of those boring platformers that spring up in the GOTW every few weeks. Heck, if it has to be a platformer, it probably involved a 2D Newtonian physics engine and have a sorceress with a wrench and a short skirt .
Heh, I should write an article on team projects, but I just don't have the time lately. Maybe next month.
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Althought I'm average coder and average pixel artist. I can help you, but I'm not sure I can, but what the heck i'll give it a try so if ya need something mail me what you need.
I have proven new mathematic formula to be true...
Pay them weekly. Rent an appartment, buy 5 or 6 computers and turn the place into a development studio. Make your employees work for you from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
That's how things get done. Otherwise you get shit games, like all the game ever created in the history of MMF.

Pay them to do it.
Volunteers hardly ever do what they promise to do, its very rare, id say less than 10% will do what they say they will, and that's from a lot of experience as well, you can try every option you could possibly think off and you still will only get a 10% workforce, not even 10%, I think more realistic is to say 1 in 20 will do the work, 5%
Exceptions to this is musicians, they virtually always deliver, either its easier making music or they are harder working or just plain more into their art than others.
Im coming from 3d here, may be different on a 2d platform, perhaps click users are more forth coming that 3d games makers.
Even some mod teams have paid people to do work on them when they don't get a volunteer to do that job, A friend of mine had to do that to get his mod done, it was a large popular mod as well.
As a musician, spriter, and too some degree coder, Ill agree that as a musician Im more likely too actually deliver. Its not REALLY a matter of one form being any easier then the other forms, as a matter of fact, writing good music is often much harder then writing good code or making good sprites, however, you invest a great deal less time overall into the creation of it, particularly for games where the goal is too create ambiance. If you give me a dessert level, as something I need too do, I could just improvise in phrygin for half an hour, and by the end of it, I would have enough parts too write something compositionally sound that did the job. Its not a matter of challange, or musicians being more into there work, it just takes less time. You ask someone too spend 10 hours of there life helping you, and they might move onto other things before there done, you ask for an hour, and they prolly will do it.
If you are the kind of person who want to make sure things get done, I would recommend hiring people who have a different level of respect for you than friendship. If that sounds harsh enough for you, I'd try to team up with people who have skills that are very different than your own, so you can all depend on each other without interfering in each others 'area of skill'.
Democratic way: Team up a couple of buddies and make slow but fine progress.
