Importing a gif into any graphics program (with gif support) will give you the first frame of the animation. Best known is ImageReady which is normally included in PhotoShop (you can shift between them in the bottom of the tool bar). When you load an animated gif in, for example, Java-code it will be displayed as an animation. Note that gifs can be saved as either looping or endig gifs, and that non-looping gifs will only animate once when loaded in java, because the pic will then be stored in the cache, or something. http://create-games.com/project.asp?view=main&id=1217
