Hey guys, ive been in and out of the community for 10 years
and barely have anything to show for it
im a mediocre spritist and an okay programmer
Just looking for a team or a partner to make some cool games
And to real develop my programming skills - i want to learn how to do alot of the amazing stuff that many people are doing here now - but without graphics i just dont feel the energy to learn
If i was making a game (and didnt spend 8 hours making sprites and animating them only to hate them the next) i could totally blossom into a pretty damn good programmer.
To show that im not no pathetic newbie
heres an engine i was just fiddling around with today - its not the best i know but it works fine and yet still needs to be debugged a lil
I don't think it works fine . When I want to turn into dir. 24 from dir. 20 then it continues to move in dir. 20 instead of going d24 . Walking works correctly only in one or two directions :|.
Well, you're not a pathetic newbie , but the engine IMO needs to be created from the beginning :|.
This guy reminds me of Destruction Carnival somehow .
I have a game you could program.
Im in two minds about the name of it
Red Hot Chicks or Dead hot chicks.
The game is set in hell, Satan has decided hell is looking a bit dull, he wants to give it a little lift, So he gets one of his demons to steal some hot women from heaven. You job as an angel is to get them back, too avoid starting another war you have agreed to play a game for the women's return.
Game is reminiscent of the collection card games from the 70s, the most popular and memorable brand being the top trumps card sets.
wiki top trumps.

That's it in brief, I have the graphics for it, just needs putting together, you can have a go at it if you want.
well BROO i notice some problems with the decelleration part of the engine
ill scrap it and start a new
but whats the point if its not for a game
i made that in like 40 minutes time (25 minutes spent on that damn sprite)
yea ive been playing DC alot - its 10th year anniversary.
Well, avanti - i mean if i saw some graphics maybe id take a stab, but Im not crazy about card games on the computer (poker addict but with real people)
i guess im looking for a company to take me under their wing
thats all i want
Its not enough,I need more
Not enough to satisify
I said I dont want it, I just need it.
To believe, to feel, to know I'm alive.
Knuckle deep beneath the borderlines.
This may hurt a little but its something you'll get used to.
Relax. Slip Away...
Thinking ahead and a bit off topic, can you get the source code with MMF2, you can get a dev kit for the wii for under 2k usd, Im sure it was 17 hundred, if you can get the source for click in theroy you could make a wii game, even if you didnt have the cash, if you made something worth selling you could get a publisher to front it based on a windows working demo.
If it was possible Id love to do a sword fighting simulator, Ive always wanted to make a game like that, but have the player use a controller like a sword, now that the wii is out, its actually possible to make a game like that, but can click games be playable on the wii or the DS, now if it was possible then id be into making that game, but if not then there is not so much point as playing a game like that on a mouse would be very flat, but if it was feasible then id love to make a sword fighting simulator.
I am amazed that click don't do a version of the editor that can export to the handhelds, that would make sense.
Sword fighting games sound good but they suck in practice. Your average player just isn't any good with a sword. A wii sword game would see the player cutting their own legs off and punching themselves in the face pretty consistantly.
I think you are right there, even people that have some experiance are limited, just watch a LARP video or inexperianced fencing or kendo, so I think you may be right, I had an idea that cut it down to just 3 moves for a game, I think it would work well, but I will not make it on MMF2 as it ran like sludge, dont think MMF2 is right for it, I would think about using Quake 2, as its under the General Public License. If you wanted to port to wii and you had a game good enough to publish, 1700 usd will get a wii dev kit and you can port it over. So in theroy you could make a wii game.
The trouble with click is that you cannot port it so I am told, even with a dev kit apparently, so no point making any wii game for it at all, you don't get the source code any way so even if it can be ported you don't get the source.
A dev kit won't convert any code into the wii's language... You'll just have the facility to program for the wii, that's how they work from what i've seen/heard
