So yeah, this isn't really a coding problem. However it is a problem I'm experiencing with click-products, so I thought it should go in this forum.
ANYWAYS
The problem is resolution in apps.
Most of the games I download here on dc which incorporate a resolution change don't go fullscreen. They resize into like 2/3 of the screen. A few resize to fullscreen and lag horribly! A few other go fullscreen whilst running smoothly.
Why is this?
Does anyone else experience the same problem?
I agree with you on that, but what about the games which doesn't resize properly i.e resizes but only fills a rectangular box in the center of my screen, roughly 2/3 of it?
Ha! That makes sense!
Now to get everyone to use DirectX...
Another question, when you make an app say 320x240, how do you go about resizing it? I use both MMF's built-in resize and DXres set to 640x480. It really runs smooth plus the DXres adds a smudge of blur which makes everything look better!
There are different kinds. MMF (and TGF) has a stretch mode, which stretches the image to fill the current resolution. This is the laggy kind you describe. However, other games changes the computer's resolution (which is okay for CRTs, but causes artefacting in LCD screens)
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
Many of the TGF and MMF games with stretch-mode that lags can be fixed by right-clicking on the application icon, properties, and then 'run in 256 colour mode'.

"plus the DXres adds a smudge of blur which makes everything look better!"
Hell no! Raw pixels FTW!
Make a shortcut to any click game and add the /DDRAW parameter to it to force it to use the DirectDraw rendering engine. Equals correct fullscreening.
Actually there are others things involved. Like your Graphics card and such.

EE: better check out the readme that comes with MMF 1.5 or MMF 2, it has a "command line parameters" section that contains a few more command line parameters.
Also, Phizzy once made an application to run other Click apps with any parameter, through a frontend.
