Yeah I'll do a SilverNova competition I suppose.. soon. Just not sure about the prize yet :\ Could just feature the game on the site and I can write a review on it at the ClickZine and stuff I suppose
Oh, we don't need prizes or anything. I mean... at least as far as I'm concerned. Although a way to win some royalty-free music would be awesome. (Anybody know any easy, free music creation tools, btw?) But, I'm just looking for the fun of a comp...
Well if anyone wants to get one going, I can provide DC points/tags for the winners. DC points may become somewhat useful in the future.
Craps, I'm an old man!

I'm actually going to be holding a competition earlier next year with $500 as a prize. I'll probably be talking to a few other people and sites to have prizes donated as well.
Look for it.

Can you define what you mean by "a good one"? I remember that you had issues with the Time competition, but I didn't fully understand why. Just curious to know what rules you think make a competition good or bad.

In this case don't make a shit theme.
The main problem i had with the other competition is that i asked them to forget about a theme and just make it a 24 hour competition. Because it's hard enough to make a game in 24 hours without having to start thinking idea up after it's already started.
Peblo will need to make rules to stop cheating since he has a prize. But those others didn't need rules because there was no prize. It killed the fun.
See now?

Having a general theme or genre in mind will make things more difficult, but the results usually are more fun and original too.
You will never get everyone happy with any kind of compo. Just try to get as much people happy as possible with it, by having some sort of poll before starting the compo.
Check out the Code-It Forum within 30 minutes, as I am going to post the next 'Difinitive' Compo. It won't start until next week, but sign up is going to be this week.
