Had the best season EVER in Kimberley, Canada last year, and I'm gonna be spending this season in Méribel, France.
3 Weeks til I fly out - I just can't wait!
Any other ski/snowboard bums out there, looking forward to hitting the slopes?
Cool - have fun. I'm really tempted to go try some of these small Scandinavian and "New Europe" resorts actually. I get a bit pissed off with the hordes of english tourists in most big resorts, and it's not like you need to be in *huge* mountains to have good skiing.
I've got a feeling I won't be that impressed with Méribel, as I generally prefer small resorts - no tourists = no english people, no queues, a more friendly atmosphere, and fresh snow isn't all skiied out by lunchtime. Really should have done a bit more preparation...
That's only *good* for total beginners and practicing tricks. 170m? That would probably take all of about 20 seconds to ski down. Man-made snow sucks too. I'm sure it's a big improvement over dry slopes though.
Curiously, it would cost me more to get to Milton Keynes (from Cornwall) than the Alps - you can fly Bristol to Geneva for £20!
