Really nice, thanks Josh. I am really, really hyped about Bonesaw, and it is nice to hear some music while waiting.
A quick question: I thought I had heard "Robot rokk" before, and yeah, that song was in a The Spirit Engine 2 preview video. I guess it was just some temporary music for that video, 'cause I can't imagine the song will be in both games?
Otherwise, really cool. You've really got a sense of melodies.
This particular stuff was done in ModPlug tracker with samples I created either years ago with my Kurzweil keyboard, or with new sample libraries I have now (most notably East-West) and with VST synths I created samples from (like NI's FM-8, for one).
Very nice that you use trackers. I use Modplug Tracker too.
I'm worried that the soundtrack is not available in module. Well, they are in module in the game, but the samples are in .wsp file. I would like to see how did you compose these awesome songs. The .wsp file is 45MB so how the hell big samples you using?
A lot of the samples were produced by me, and yes, some of them are decently big. I've given xerus a more compressed version of the soundtrack to include with the game, although there is some loss in sound quality.
The modules are encrypted with the WSF format (I still need to release that toolkit ). I did that because a lot of the samples that I've used are licensed to me and I can't distribute them freely. (Like the guitar samples in "Get Puck in Here"). If there is any song in specific you'd like a look at I can send you a version of it.
I also used WSF to promote the soundtrack in MP3 format. (:
Last time I was on this site it said I was "16."
