1. Make a picture in MS Paint, or any other graphics editor. It should be about 60x56 pixels in size.
2. Save your image as PNG, JPG or GIF. Never use bitmaps on the internet!
3. Find a decent image webhost where you can upload your picture. Photobucket.com is a popular, free image host. It only takes a couple of minutes to register.
4. Upload the image to your webhost of choice, and copy the URL (address) of the image to the clipboard.
5. Go to this site, click the "User Admin" link on the left-hand sidebar.
6. In the "My Account" box, click the "Modify" link.
7. Copy/paste the image URL into the "Avatar" field.
8. Click the "Update Profile" button.
9. TADAA!
