Hey I was just wondering if Vista will run MMF games. Like all recent versions of MMF. I think I've released games in 1.2 and 1.5, will those work? And do MMF2 games work on Vista?
MMF 1.5 works if you play around with the files and what not, but it works.
And as far as MMF2 goes?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. Just about every search result containing the words "MMF2" and "Vista" put together, point to people asking that question, and the answer being yes. I myself confirmed MMF2 working on Vista, before Vista's even released.
It does work, yes... if I sound a little rude, it's because the question's asked so much. Does it take much effort to answer? Of course not, but why take the effort of asking, when the result is easy to find.
Edit: And the reason I mentioned nothing about the games, is because if the application works, then you can assume the games made with it, do too.
What do you mean by play around with files? Basically I'm wondering is if someone downloaded a game made with MMF (1.2, 1.5, 2) would they be able to unzip it and run it with no problems?

The games yeah, MMF 1.5 itself you need to play around with the files for the program to get it working. I'd say exactly what you do, but I can't remember off the top of my head. MMF 1.5 games though work fine, yes.
Vista isn't some infant operating system in which everyone needs to double check and see if everything works on it again. Fact of the matter is, Vista only truly has driver issues with older hardware and something like that is easily checked up with Google searches. As far as the rest, I personally have had absolutely minimum issues with any compatibility. Even the Aero theme alone has been shockingly 10x more efficient for me then WindowBlinds ever was, when it came to compatibility.
Well, BrandonC, I have a rather different opinion about the compatibility and stability of the Vista OS.
DOS games doesn't work, worked as a charm in XP.
DOSBox doesn't work, compatibility issues there..
MMF2 gets a "program started working"-popup everytime i exit a game within it. If I don't remember to close the popup that sometimes hides in the back, MMF2 can crash and destroy hours of work. That is fun, happens once in a while. I think this only happens in DirectX mode.
Vista also have some problems with a few Klik-games. I think it only affect games who uses DirectX and with changing of screen resolutions... I can browse through my game library later today, some game doesn't start at all.
And I'm using a HP computer that is specifically crafted to use with Vista. And all the drivers are from HP. Except the bios flash update, that one crashed Vista beyond restarting. Had to reformat.
The poor backwards compatibility is a shame indeed. Many windows applications and games that still worked on my crappy XP machine won't run on Vista. But I've never had any problems whatsoever running MMF2 or games made in MMF1.5/MMF2 on my Vista machine. So there.

Good luck with Vista! I haven't
Ironicly, I haven't had absolutly ANY of those issues you seem to be having with Vista. None. Even with Dos and DosBox. Rayman 1 runs beautifully for me, and MMF2 runs so much better for me on Vista then it did on XP. So I think you screwed up somewhere when installing Vista, and if it came with your PC then your first mistake was not reinstalling a good copy for yourself.
The majority of the problems, that I blamed on Vista were actually hardware/driver problems.
Example:
I had Star Wars Battle Front 2. Worked fine in Xp, wouldn't even open in Vista. After a driver update to my sound card, it worked no problem.
I don't know BrandonC.. maybe I am a little judgemental, maybe it's because of HP:s custom ordered parts. The partitions of this PC was totally screwed up, I was forced to reinstall the whole system. I DON'T want a new system with a new operative system a single 500gb partition, that's insane! Good practice is to have the operative system on a different partition right? Hewlet Hewlet..
I consider myself a very experience user...
Been digging in operative systems since I was five years old. I am practically made of circuits myself. My best bet would be that this graphic card sucks ass
I however isolated the problem with MMF2 - it was because of the usage of DirectX as drawing method. After I switched to Standard display mode the program doesn't crash anymore when running the application in MMF2. Nowadays it only crashes randomly when fiddling in the event editor. Saving every 2 minutes has become a habit of importance. One would say that using HPs own graphic driver in combination with an up-to-date Direct X would solve this problem, but nooo. ATI:s own Catalyst driver operates even worse. The Omega driver failed to execute any game
So summing up, it's probably the hardware that's screwing me. Get good, well-supported, popular hardware and Vista would probably run fine.
