something like allowing paying members more options in their profile, say... a bigger avatar and custom rating. Or being able to upload files to TDC server,
instead of closing off certain parts of the website for non paying members.
Basically, more for the ones that pay, not less for those that don't.
I don't think it'll be reducing anything for non-paying members. Think of it more like a renovation. We'll just be adding more features to the site, but that segment is only for paying members. But I too am of the belief that everything should be free (considering that my country's currency is worth 8 times less than the USA currency), so we'll see how it goes

Let me guess, some kind of TDC point shop, with members only items, that do something spiffy like replace what ever somebody posts with "I am x's bitch" for an entire day?
Surely new features would help us get new members, as well as keep those who are thinking of leaving?
To be honest, I'm not even sure how we could get new members other than advertising on other websites and such, which is going to cost money. And if you didn't know already, we have no money (but hey, maybe a membership thing like we're discussing could help towards that).
What you need to do is to go through all old topics (yes, I know it'll take a while... but it'll be worth it in the end) and delete all the useless ones.
You could also create a forum specifically for the ones that are most helpful, but only let people view them, and not post in the topics.
It should save quite a bit of database space when you're through.
I am not sure if anyone does this, but how about using your games as advertisements? Just simply find multiple sites where you can put your game out to a different audience. Within your description of the game you can mention Click Team's site as to how you were able to make the game as well as The Daily Click. That way if someone really likes the game and becomes interested in making one too then they will know to come here.
Attracting new members
How about hosting games FOR FREE In exchange of placing a daily click logo in your game (on or before title screen) Then people downloading the game elsewhere would be directed to this site.
We could even have people put out gimped versions on other sites, and only have the full version on this site.
Money
How about a lottery? High profile members would donate prizes (signed artwork from a game? signed custom cd with soundtrack?) and people could buy tickets. The donators get publicity, TDC gets money and some lucky person wins... something related to a click game
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -

As much as I support TDC, even I don't put a link to TDC on my games (though perhaps I should on my latest one..) I do love how a lot of those really serious games like ED and Knytt which give a mention to MMF though

Which takes up expensive bandwidth, especially for a good game. It's a good idea, but unfortunately bandwidth isn't free.

Also good in concept, but who would want anything put up by a kliker, unless it's a copy of MMF2 or a game design book or actual cash? I'd rather make it a game-making competition instead of a lottery though
