That's subjective although I do have my fair share of complaints about Brawl. Like how chain-grabbing was not discovered in the testings. THEN how you now have character counters, one with less skill can win if using a character with a greater advantage. Finally, how the game was hyped up so much when they put more time and effort into a story mode everyone would only play once over the online play. Not to mention how Mario Kart randomly appeared with a better online system to a game that had been in the works for over 2 years!

Hey now, I'm not wrong... I was comparing Brawl and Melee. 64 wasn't even there.
Though to be honest, I never really played the 64 one except over a friends house, so I'll be honest, I really don't know for sure. I'll take your word for it though, especially based on the pattern formed with most games now.
I haven't touched Brawl in months, but my favourites were Dedede, Ganondorf, Bowser and Mario. Oh and Lucas for online random Brawls, he's pretty immense for that.

Jigglypuff, in all 3 games. She was at her best in the 64 one though, I won't lie.

I like alot... I'm one of those stereotypical Smashers who uses link. I haven't really played it much considering I don't have any friends to play it with. I like Link, Toon Link, Pit, Meta Knight, ROB, and Diddy... but I can't remember if they're my favorite because it's been awhile. I enjoyed Melee more, but that might be because I had someone to play it with. Plus, nobody ever plays the 64 version with me since I got it. I'm a lonely gamer.
To me Brawl seems a lot less hardcore than Melee was. I also think the characters are quite a bit more balanced, but that could just be me. I kind of like it because I tend to play with people who have either never played the game or barely play at all. It's a lot easier for them to pick up. For that reason I prefer Brawl. Also I like seeing all the cameos and having lots of characters to pick from
On Brawl I like Dedede the best. My best characters include him, Olimar, R.O.B., Sonic, Ice Climbers, Sonic, Gannondorf, Pokemon Trainer and Diddy Kong... but I can use just about anyone well. I like doing random battles, keeps things fresh.
In Melee I only used Ice Climbers and Captain Falcon. But there was this one time when I got good with Pichu
Haven't got Brawl (yet) but my favorites are: (In order of favorite-ness, farvorite-est at top)
Kirby (Suck someone and spit him out on someone else .)
Pikachu (Quick and powerful)
Mario (Has some cool attacks)
Captain Falkon (Cool attacks again)
Yes I love ROB. I also kind of agree that melee was a bit more hardcore... I don't know. I still like Brawl quite a bit (I like it a bit more than melee). It would take the cake if nintendo hadn't excluded megaman. In melee I ALWAYS played as Young link, but before that it was marth, and before that it was fox. I also enjoy playing as sonic (back to brawl now. I wrote this essay out of order.). We oughrt to exchange friend codes, seeing as I can't find random people to battle... I had something else to say... Darn goldfish memory .
If Sonic weren't so annoying by constantly spin dashing all over the place and sometimes over the edge I'd pick him. But Kirby and Diddy Kong are my favorites and I pretty much always included them in the SE adventure mode party.
All four times I've tried online it's been so slow I could go and get some coffee. Either I or the other players had to drop out. Now, on the other hand, I have no clue how different friend battles are run. It may have a different system. At any rate, I suppose I could dig out my code.
Friend mode works a million times better than anonymous mode, even though that isn't saying much. Seriously though, it works great, I used to play with my friend from school all the time with little lag.
Now that I am a grown and wise SSBB player, I have updated from kirby to toon link. I have mastered the art of both. Has anyone else figured out you can catch stuff people throw at you, even if it's an icecube thing or a bomb? I figured it out today on accident . I love toon link, except the fact he's such a girl. I still use kirby sometimes, he is dear to my heart.
You can log off any time you like, but you can't ever leave.
1) Ike. He's just so powerful but you need to be ruddy good with his slow speed, guess where players will be etc. "I fight for my friends" what a bell end.
2) MetaKnight. A pro friend said that a good MetaKnight player can't be hit. But I am it's the speed and flight here.
3) Wolf. Very good at dodging attacks with his low profile like. And his theme is ossom
On the other side of things! I can't use Kirby or Jigglypuff (too slow and weak) Mario (not as good as he was in Melee) Ness or Lucas.
Am I the only one willing to play friend Wi-Fi? It isn't nearly as bad as anonymous Wi-Fi. We could at least trade stages and stuff... I mean, what was the point of even putting it in my sig if no one ever looks at it?
I like Metaknight, because of his cheap little air up+A combo that you can spam forever. Snake, because you just randomly throw grenades and when you plant his C4 in some spots its almost impossible to dodge. Finally Fox, cause he's just damn fast and good a juggling.
Trying to get a game against a bit of a pro. Friend of mine is the 3rd best Peach player in the world or something, and can beat the best Link player (which means the tiers are wrong). I'd probably lose in a heartbeat
I suppose it's testament to how well designed the game is but yea - it speaks volumes that there isn't an official Tier list for Brawl yet. Some characters are downright terrible though compared to some of the proposed higher tiers (Wolf, G&W, Snake).
Yea I haven't even trained with him but I was able to run through Classic mode on Hard with him. He's not much of a fun character to play as IMO.
Sonic's not so bad either.
Ike is fun, just as long as you don't spam aethar all the time, but i don't see why its so useful. It just gives your super armour and its really easy to dodge...
I don't normally use B-attacks except for recovery. Ike's side B attack is very nifty for getting back onto the level from a smash, more so than aether!

Yeah his side B is quite useful, and his down B can be a qlincher in a fight too if you time it right. Counter for the win!
Sonic's final smash is powerful, but as long as you're not cheap and don't hang at the spawn point, it can be pretty hard to control. I learned the game with other learners, and therefore, never got blocking ingrained in my head. I can do well otherwise, but I don't win very often because I forget to block. Of course, I don't ever play, so that could also be an issue.

My main is Samus (Of course) and i am kick ass with both her and her suitless form.
Shame i don't have wi-fi, stupid limited bandwidth.
I just dug the game back out the other day because there was actually someone to play against! He apparently plays all the time and I beat his butt 6 out of 6 times. (I don't ever play. Nobody to play it with. ) It's such a fun game, it's a shame I have nobody to sharpen my skills against.
