So i've noticed that every other minute service is unavailable.
This seems to happen alot more than usual these days. And when I'm done typing and hit the post button, there will be a blank screen saying service unavailable. Then i'll have to wait 3 minutes until I can get back to the site to post this message.
I don't know how this works but is there some way you could fix this or make it happen less often?
It used to be quite annoying, but now it's downright unusable. I would just forget this site if I didn't enjoy being part of the community so much. I always have a few things that could be done in five minutes, but it takes half an hour sometimes! You guys say to donate to fix it, but I have to wonder whether that would really solve the problem. What's the deal?
Yeah i'm getting it every other page load, it's starting to get annoying. In fact i got one trying to get to the boards and another trying to click on this topic
oh great now i'm getting ANOTHER ONE so i can't make this post.
I triple posted. Then I double deleted. All thanks to the laggy server
Hmm... yes, I think it's either time to start complaining to the host or find a new one. Somehow TDC seems to end up on all the horrible hosts
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
I've gotten so many it's hard to count. I've gotten so that as soon as I get the main page to load, I open all the links I want to visit in a new tab, and just refresh one at a time until it works. Really, seriously, how do we fix this? And yes, I meant we. I'm willing to help if I can. (However that may be... )
People doesn't seem to realize the meaning of the "Service Unavailable" message. It's NOT a server issue. It's an intentional feature of the site to avoid people getting stuck here for too long. You should be grateful that the "Service Unavailable" message prevents you from losing your social life by just hanging around here.
(oh, the irony, as I was posting this the first time, I got the Service Unavailable message)
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -

Are you being sarcastic? Because I'm not in a very good mood due to the fact that I created a post with a very extensive list of bugs, questions, and suggestions, all of which got deleted instantly when I was presented with the "Service Unavailable" screen. I'm getting pissed off.
Just because I come here everyday, and lurk the Active Users page to see if anyone is on to see my posts doesn't mean I have no social life. It just slows down during the summer...

You could have just clicked the Back button, waited a bit, then hit then post button (unless you got a crappy browser that doesn't remember what you typed)
I was going to say, "Well, I hope I don't jinx it, but I haven't gotten it yet this time around! Maybe it's fixed...?" And then I got it when I hit reply. Telepathic jinxing. Internet explorer, fortunately, remembers for me. Is anyone else getting, "Stack overflow at line: 0"? Something to do with this?
I don't bother post that often coz 'Service Unavailable' appears way too often for me so I just read other people's post and if I *really* want to give my input, I'll post and hope I don't get that damn message. Sometimes I get so annoyed with it I log out and don't login again for days.
One must wonder, could it cause noobs to get fustrated and leave permanently?
Yup i have to say that this is probably one of the worst sites i have been on for this kind of interruption. It has driven me crazy soooo many times. i'm sticking around cos i have been here for a while now but i hope it gets fixed soon.
ugh, I never really noticed it much a while back but this last week. Oh my good golly gosh! Several times a day when checking the forum or posting a message. So infuriating.
*sniff* Gettin' it again... YES! Veggietales watchers! I thought everyone wouldn't have a clue what I was talking about. Most everybody's favorite is the Pirates who don't do anything, but my personal favorite is "where is my hairbrush" in Japanese. And the Mooshoo. Oh, wait-- can't forget about his cheeseburger... I like all of them.

Yeah today it was really bad again..
It would let me click on a link.. 5 minutes later, let me click on another one... and 5 seconds after i clicked that one, I would have to wait another 5 minutes...
It was bad..
Your just jealous that you're not as awesome as me.

Just got an unavailable plus a Bad Request and then a few minutes down-time.
Really, who is hosting this page, what kind of agreement do you have with them, what's the problem and how are they planning to solve this? Would be interesting to know.
Oughta just host the site off of someone's computer. I keep getting Stack overflow at line: 0 and it's refused to even display Service Unavailable sometimes. Oh well. It's better I guess.
i havent had a problem as of yet. it seems fine to me. but if the host keeps acting up, instead of paying for hosting services maybe you should just dust off an old computer, install linux, and install apache, break into someones house and hook it up to their internetz in the basement. problem solved!

Problem: ASP doesn't run on Linux computers.

Just got Service Unavailable five times in the last 30 minutes - pretty much happening whenever I go to another page.
Also note, that as soon as I posted this, I was also greeted with a service unavailable

Or, if there is no expensive long-term agreement with the current hosts, TDC should just swap to another host. Really, they aren't expensive at all. People could post the hosts which they are using, if they are good, we users could vote for what kind of service we want for what prize, then anybody who has the money and likes this site could donate their share for what the hosts cost.
I would let you put it on my server with 100/10 mbit connection which I am currently not using (I live with my parents during the summer, they have a big house near the ocean), but I think there will be a lot of problems with having it on someones personal server, so lets just get a good host!

Do you know who these "host people" you are talking to are?
Do you know what their problem is?
What kind of possibilities does TDC have to move around this site and its database anyway, do you have access to the server?
This is starting to get really bad, TDC needs to get a better host soon. This is starting to get really bad, and ive found myself coming less and less, if something doesnt get fixed soon, people might stop coming

How ironic that i thought, well, it was fine yesterday, so ill just make a response. Oh the irony: Service unavailable!
Perhaps i should suggest 1 on 1 as a new server host? It works perfect for my dad's business. It could also be in the database or something isn't linked up properly with the command lines in the Forum code. Who knows anyway.
*crosses fingers that this will make post, as i type this, connection interrupted error appears on review. ...sigh, copy paste*
