New York City and then Disney World, like the majority of British tourists lol. Actually last time I was there I only saw one other British family, a couple of Australian families, and the rest were Americans who all fled to Disney World for the cheaper food deals
BUT BACK ON TOPIC-
JoeH did you order the special edition? I really want to, but for £44.99 is a DVD and a couple of mini books really worth it? I may get the £30 one...
Mmm. I want the "Galactic Edition" but I can't even afford the standard version right now. If I had the money I'd of preordered it long ago, looks like my kinda game.
Disney world is expensive! And I live here and I've never even been to new york. . . and don't have an interest in every going there.
Anyway, spore looks pretty good, only computer game I've been interested in... in forever. Probably won't get it though, not enough hours in the day. And like sims I'll probably get bored of it after a couple days.

Apparently they made it cheaper for Americans now... explains why it was the busiest Ive seen it last time I was there
And yeah it's weird, I live a 3 hour drive from London but I rarely go there, Ive been to NYC more than London :/ Disney World is expensive, but I doubt there's many other places like it in the world... you can go to British themeparks but they just don't compare, atmostphere and theming-wise.
Also I just rebelled and spent £44 on the galactic edition of Spore
Just out of curiosity, why would you rather go to a theme park than to a nightclub or something of the sort? Whenever I go to a different country, I'm much more interested in making friends than going to theme parks. I stopped travelling with that mindset some time ago. Don't take it as an offence, as you always do. I'm interested in the answer.
Disney World has some massive night clubs, however they've chosen to close them all this year... gives it a tacky image.
"By September 28, 2008, all of the nightclubs on Pleasure Island will close. It will be last call for the last time at 8 Trax, The Adventurer's Club, Mannequins™ Dance Palace, BET Sound-Stage™ Club, Motion and The Comedy Warehouse."
But even if I wanted to be a teenager and go night clubbing again, Id do so from home.
Anyway, back on topic- I think with spore I'm really looking forward to trying out the building and vehicle editors. The creature editor is awesome, but surprisingly I got bored of it already... all the creatures started to feel like the rest- same moves, sounds and animations
Last off-topicnetude...
I've always wondered why disney world is such a popular tourist attraction. It looks quite boring to me. You like roller coasters? You should come to Cedar Point instead! But anyway, have fun.

Yeah, I understand. European clubs are much better than US clubs.
Yea, I just realized that you were probably talking about things other than the mickey mouse and donald duck-themed rides. I didn't really think about there being things for adults, because they advertise it as little kid heaven, but it makes sense since Disney does other stuff besides kids' shows now.
I can't explain the draw of disney world, it's just awesome. I remember I went there in 4th grade and they had sega world. It was just a like a huge warehouse of sega games. Was awesome at the time. Then there's rides and restaurants and overpriced souviners to buy.
Nightclubs? I'd imagine if I were going to another country I'd want to see the sites and sounds that make it appealing. I've never been to a nightclub, I just figured it was a place where victims go before they're killed on CSI Miami.
i live on the other side of the country. only been to nyc once. and never been to disneyworld! buuuuut...we's gots disneyLAND! and i's gots an annual pass. and we have six flags. and knotts.

doesnt japan have a disney themed park?

Disneyland in CA was Walt Disney's dream park, but then it became too built up around the location and he didn't like it, so he built Disney World in Orlando. There are also Disneylands in Paris, Hong Kong and Tokyo
As for not knowing what spore is... what!? Youtube it! Or better still go on the official site!

Edit: Like most games, the non-PC versions of Spore look far less advanced. The DS version looks awful IMO.

The DS version is a different game-- I think they were going to make the console ones as similar as they could. But they still haven't said anything anywhere about the wii version! It may be years for all I know!
There was some guy rambling on IRC about how much he was forcing himself to like it. He says it feels a lot like a MMORPG where you make a cool guy then have to press the same button over and over again to get it to level up.
That's what someone else said. Don't ask me where he got Spore

It's true. In fact, you feel almost lost without other people like friends to play with, because you almost expect it. It's not like playing Sims 2 or any of the SimCity games. It feels almost exactly like playing an MMORPG, and little you do will have a major advantage or disadvantage over the game. It makes sense that they'd want to do that, to avoid creativity from being scrutinized because it doesn't play by the games rules, but it's pretty disappointing when it seems like everything you do, in some way benefits you the same way as anything else would. There's like no strategy in it at all.
The best parts in the game seem to be Civilization and Space mode, because these are by far the most complex.

As for personal attacks- funny how you took the one of your signature, aimed at me, Brandon?
Personal attacks and signature attacks are completely different. Besides, did you mindlessly post that like the rest of your comebacks, without actually looking in my signature to see if it was still there? Obviously not, because I took it out just before I made my last post.
Why are they different? You were still trying to offend me, and it doesn't matter if it's there or not, it's the fact that you're being such a hypocrite in the first place.
Lol, I meant beta testing! Besides, there are a hell lot of people who could get their hands on it from the stores that are stocking it, it's just that the official release date is so slow.
BTW, stop flaming each other, guys. You don't solve anything, you just get everyone on fire.

Adam is the kind of person who will sit here all day and pull strings and exploit every possible pointless loophole he can, to get a fabricated point across. The kind of person who will never admit he's wrong, because he's learned to master the art of being clever, not smart. I will admit that this puts me in a position where nothing I say is going to be able to counter him, because he will always make something out of nothing. Even if that means attacking my personal life, by means of a video I added to Youtube out of shear amusement with myself and friends. So you know what? That's fine, theres nothing anyone can do about it. Just so long as he knows that no one agrees with him, they merely don't know how to compete with him. I'm done getting into slap fights with him.
He's the classic stereotypical internet user, and for that, I feel stupid for being routinely involved in any sort of argument. My sincerest apologies.

Ouch... what did Adam do this time.-_-'
Don't worry, he just likes messing around with people.
Anyway, i've been looking more into spore recently and it does look good, reminds me a little of Black and White, and when i get the money i'll try and get a copy for myself.
That was a load of nonsense. Adam didn't really do anything. O_o The amount of hypocrisy in this forum sometimes makes me laugh. (Me included! Don't throw that at me. )
Anyway... I think I'll wait for the wii version. If I can get a wii version of anything, I will.

haha! I just killed an epic creature because of a bug! Basically, it got stuck in my nest, where it couldnt harm me, but I could harm it. So my maximum health (42) stayed at that, and it's health went from 1000 to 0 I evolved to tribal stage immediatley /SFRANK

I saw a guy post the same message at the Xspore forums by the name of Edam!
Lol, Im about to start civilization phase just killed off 4 tribes and made friends with one Love how you can tame wild creatures and they will fight for you, but last about 5 seconds, lolol.
Ah. Well I'd suggest updating your graphics drivers. Check your system settings to find out what graphics card you have (If you don't already know) then visit the cards website and download the Windows Vistas Drivers. Hopefully that'll get you sorted!

You'z coming to USA? sweeeeeett... I wouldn't mind goind to U.K at least ONCE...
I havn't played it for a few months... there's nothing really to do now except make new creatures, which kinda loses it's novelty after the 100th time..
I might check if they've made another update. Last time I did that I got a whole bunch of insect legs.
Fun game. I would've bought it if it wasn't for the DRM. I refuse to pay for a game that both installs a rootkit on your computer AND only allows you to do 3 or 5 fresh installs of the game. I get new computers or reinstall my computers completely quite often so that's just not satisfactory.

Indeed All the over-hyped crap about "evolution" and they didn't really evolve at all
Oh, yes, it was quite the disappointment. It's like EA decided to make a game about creatures and had no idea how to make it a game, so they stole ideas from Feeding Frenzy, MMORPGs, RTSes, and some 3X game. Didn't even bother to do a good job at either. It might as well been one of those games based on a movie.

All DRM does is punish the people who actually buy the software. The cracked version of spore is safer to use then the DVD version. That said, i could have gotten it DRM free from steam (although steam is just sort of a gamer friendly DRM thing. but at least it only runs when i tell it to and is uninstallable).
Ok I just started a new game on spore... It was pretty much the same as my last game. I'm sick of walking around the planet and eating or befriending stuff. There's not really much to look forward to anymore, it was better the first time when I didn't know what to expect.

Because it wouldn't be much fun? Would be great for half a day or so, then you just realize that you're running around the map, spitting and biting at NPCs.
Heh, but if there were like 40 players playing different tribes on the same planet, would be great.
