I have a problem, yes. I want my tiles to change grapchic depending on how many tiles there are around it and WHERE the other tiles are.

I've tried EVERYTHING (well, probably not) without gettin' it to work. Would be so nice...

Sorry for not searching articles first.. ..Didn't think of it.


EDIT: Since this is a platform game (where the char destroys tiles), I hope I can make it render faster.. ..somehow.

You render the whole scene at the start of the frame - you can do the exact same thing but using fastloops to make it quicker. If you need to change a tile during the game, you only need to modify that tile and the other 8 directly surrounding it.

If you only have one type of background then you don't need an array. You can just use a collision mask / detector.
