My apologies, a mix of unfortunate events seem to bog me down more than I would have expected. The tourey must go on though!
Next time there is a tourey (as of course, there should be), it'll have to be more organized than it has been, in the form of deadlines and judges and such. As those of you who have hosted a competition before, you know how much time and effort they take... let alone 6, one right after the other.
JUST A REMINDER! You are one round away from...
PRIZES:
1st: 150$
2nd: 100$ (thanks to clickteam!)
3rd: 50$
Total: x/100
*Horror, happiness, drama, anger, empathy... this category is all about emotions of the player. How well you can influence the player and what they feel.
Deadline:
December 6th at 23:59 GMT
Questions, comments, hate me for taking a while to start the next round? Send me a DC mail! Good luck!

Goodness, this is still going on? O_O Wish I were a part of it... Thanksgiving break is a perfect time to stuff your face while relaxing and making games, my two favorite hobbies.

No, Cecil I actually think it does mean that he gets an automatic win. The randomizer had that function, it was only used once though, giving OMC a free win (). (jk)
Yeh, I can imagine. I do wonder why he didn't just make this round so the 2 lowest scores go out. I think you would have made it anyway, but to go to the top 3 spots without having to challange other people is rather strange after like 5 rounds. Imagine the olympics doing this: Ok, well there's 5 people left so you get at least 3rd place medal, and the other have to fight each other for the finals.
That's not fair. I demand that Bibin battle it out with one of the people who lost previously. But then again, he created such a controversy with his entry that he deserves at least $50
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
Come on, I've already given you people enough with HatMan. It's too late for it to be fair for me to make a game this round, and besides, if I had to, I'd threaten not to finish HatMan. I'll make my game for the next round super crazy to make up for this. Maybe HatMan: The Arcade Game in the style of TMNT: Turtles in Time game.
It's not unfair in any way that Bibin got a win since it's not in violation of the rules. So if you want to complain about it you should pm Peblo instead, since he's the one who decided it.

You could imagine how many ideas I came up with to fix this situation. However, I wasn't able to implement any of them since in the past I've given byes (seeds) to people in cases of odd numbers of contestants, and it would be largely unfair to become situational in this case just because the stakes were higher. When the law doesn't follow the law, then who should follow it?
That said, I hope I'm understanding your side. If you don't think so, you can definitely DC mail me.

There's no problem. I didn't write it as a complaint, I was just stating that I would have done it otherwise. But it's not my competition so not up to me. Doesn't really matter for me anyway, I didn't have the time to make a game this time. The time limit was shorter than last time.
Maybe one more week? I remember a week being add last time aswell, so I though i'd ask

Oh boy, testing games during finals week. We'll take majority votes on this one.
You can use an extra week this round or next round, but not both, so pick one. If you don't vote I just assume you'll want it next week.

I really wanna start HatMan: The Arcade Game but I can't until you start the next round!

Mm, I thought I posted. It's been having issues on my internet, no other site has these speed issues. Didn't TDC get a new server?
2-3 votes for a week addition, so next week. Sorry Mitch dude, even without Bibin's vote it was 2-2 (which was what I tried to post last time).
I would send the mails out but I'll be lucky to get this post off. So if you posted a game in this thread, that's your confirmation. Lemme go talk to my other judges and we'll see how soon we can get these games up!

Sorry for the delay guys, if my other judge doesn't get back to me tonight then the scores will be up tomorrow and the last round. You will at least have two judges for this round though.

Well, I intended the game to circulate around him trying to find his hat, so...
In reality though, don't do that; I know you want to play HMTAC too.

No no, it's cool, it's only worth 60/100 points. You can safely ignore it!

Pardon my judging if it seems superfluous, these games were fun to judge...
BORGI
In a turn of events that could only be called the best move of the century, Borgi releases to the world: twg. This game boasts simplicity while giving the player their desired freedom for exploration! To progress through the story, all you have to do is hold right, but, if you want, you can press left or down (or even up)!
The game doesn't attempt to immerse the player into the game, but imagine the fear of stepping on eyeballs if you were o_o
Graphics - woah what the heck, strange. The game throws some weird stuff at you seemingly randomly, but the locations are pretty limited really. The main character is animated quite well even if he only had around 5 or 6 frames. 13/20
Sound - i jumped once or twice ¬_¬ the music is quiet background noise mainly which kinda works to make you feel uneasy because you never know when BOOM! it will make you jump. Otherwise there is little to be heard. 9/15
Gameplay - walk right. when things go weird, continue walking right. Then get stuck at the station and stop. That what i did. was that the end? 5/20
Originality - Pretty original i guess, i can't think of a genre it would fit into... walking simulator? 4/5
Emotion - well i jumped a few times which made me uneasy. But it doesn't do much else. 15/40
Total - 46/100
Chrilley
Hailed by critics across the globe, last_stand is a game proposing epic battles. Indeed, it seems like drama seems so seep through the cracks of this tiny pocket of art, from the insurmountable amount of enemies to the engaging music.
Without a doubt this game presents emotion, if you force yourself to care about your dude. Otherwise, it feels like a flash game and no one feels flash games... Without any building up to this would be climax, it falls short. Oh, by the way, this is definitly one of the most fun games I've played this tourey.
Graphics - The graphics are a little basic but the background gradient looks pretty nice. There is a lot going on on screen but with little actual variety. 12/20
sound - Two contrasting songs, a meloncholy intro tune and a faster rocking ingame tune to get you going. cool stuff, and your basic sfx are there too. 13/15
Gameplay - shoot things and fly about. Flying isn't recommended really since enemies appear from all over and you're likely to smash into them. Yeah, same old 360 degree shooty stuff that we see a lot of already. 11/20
Originality - heh, not a lot. 2/5
Emotion - the intro kinda gets you feeling down since all hope is lost, then the main game picks you up again ready to fight the alien scum single handedly. Quite a nice contrast actually. 17/40
Total - 55/100
Don Luciano
Masterly mixed and baked to perfection, Breach of madness is no doubt the summation of all of our fears, in a form that can only be described as better than cake itself. As the game never actually describes we're fighting against, and a confusing objective further muddles the situation, the player hoplessly feels lost in battle and panic is driven home when you find out you have no more ammo.
Once again, the sampling of whats to come, but fails to fully deliver any real aspect of gameplay other than defeat.
Graphics - They look well drawn enough but there is a lack of animation and it's very dark and gloomy. The levels look a bit samey because there isnt much variety and the HUD isn't all thet great either. 10/20
Sound - The title screen seems to have some unfitting music, the ingame background atmopheric music is quite spooky and the basics are all there, footsteps, gunshots, zombie bites. Nice effort. 11/15
Gameplay - uh it's pretty good, shooting zombies is always fun, for a while. But it's all you do really. I didn't find any alternative weapons or anything, and i don't know what you do with those gold nuggets... You need to manually reload but it doesnt make things tactical when zombies are EVERYWHERE. You're also invincible it seems... 9/20
Originality - well it's all pretty standard for a click top down shooter, shooting zombies with a shotgun is incredibly cliche. There are some nice quotes at the start of levels though. 2/5
Emotion - The mood is set quite well but the gameplay is boring and you're invincible, so how scared can you possibly get? 10/40
Total- 42/100
TOTALS:
BORGI: 105
CHRILLEY: 109
MITCHHM: 0
DON L: 103
And so, the three finalists in the tourey are Bibin, Don Luciano and Chrilley! Congratulations!
Next round up in a bit!

You think I'd be able to count, especially since I have math exams in an hour. Borgi if we have another tourey, please enter, your entries are always extremely amusing.
