I saw UT3 for sale in the big Norwich for £15 Woolworths, but i didn't pic it up. That was probably the only game they had in there that wasn't almost full price. :S
Yea I know what you mean,
I think the reason I wanted it was because I just converted PSX Doom to run on my PSP, and I wanted to play a more upto date FPS,
and Lets face it since Doom2 and Duke3D all FPS games have been a rip off of those 2 and generally worse,
except for Starwars:Republic Commando, that was great because of the squad commanding, but was way to short, and there were no mods

I like Unreal Tournament 2004. Unreal Tournament 3 annoys me. It's clunky, and the graphics aren't even that great. I mean the games idea of good graphics, entail adding rusty reflections to everything, including the rocks. Guess that drives most of todays so called "gamers" unfortunately.

What I don't like about Epic is their attempt at making games look real or natural by throwing in motion blur, stupid amounts of bobbing cameras. I gave up on GoW2 just part way into the second level because it made me feel sick, even as a long term FPS/3rd person player! I'll stick to L4D and TF2 , and btw epic sale at Steam. Bioshock for £3, HL1 expansion packs for 99p and L4D for £20
I quite liked the chunky blocky graphics in UT3. The fact that they didn't go OTT with the graphics means that you can max out the graphics on any computer with a half decent graphics card, unlike most games which seem to struggle to run even on a decent system.
I got bored of the actual gameplay after about a week though.
I got Left 4 Dead for Xbox 360 for Christmas. I would have asked for it for PC, but I'm tired of friends coming over and having nothing to do, so set my priorities straight and got it for console, so we could play split screen and even some friends from school on Xbox Live. So it works.

I explained myself, and I wanted it for the Xbox 360 over the PC. No need to feel bad for me, I'm one of the many lucky bastards who got the new model of the Xbox 360 and didn't have it break on me.
Not played UT3 but enjoyed the others, but you guys have put me off it now. Hopefully they'll put the franchise to bed now since they've done little to update or add to it from the 2004 version and concentrate on something new.
On a different note, it's so sad to see Woolies the way it is now. Bought my last Pick 'n' Mix from the Kidderminster branch the other day (over £7 worth) and it was very sad. Gonna visit the one in my home town of Hereford before that closes too. It's sad knowing the shop that supplied my original Transformer collection as a kid is finally closing for good
Probably didn't help that millions of people like me didn't shop there, however it didn't help that they were so backward with their prices and merchandising strategies. They targeted the 40 year old mother audience when they should have been attacking the more affluent youth section of the public.
A friend of mine works at our towns Woolies. Him and a few colleagues have hidden some stuff they want, so on closing day when everything is like 99% off they can get it all for cheap only bought Wii points cards from there cuz they were a penny cheaper than Gamestation or the Wii shop!
And nah UT3 isn't too bad, if you're a hardcore super fan of the older titles it might appeal to you. IMO 99 is still the most fun and 2004 wasn't bad for old uni matches. Having that GoW chap on the front box though... Kinda set the tone.

you can actually play the pc version split screen via a console command and a few tweaks to the controller setup.
Just bought L4D, Bioshock, 2 HL1 add on packs and Fallout 3 for £50 on the Steam sale. Ruddy good value for money especially considering L4D is £40 on Xbox 360 alone.

Hmm. I wonder how flimsy the Xbox 720 will be. I've got a PS2 and its closing lid... thingy... whatever is cheap plastic. And I swear the CDs are made out of glass. >_<
