Team name - n/a
Project Name - Kokoshooter (name WIP)
Brief Description - It has been in production for more than 5 months. The game will allow player to enhance performance of the ship by tactically upgrading it with new parts. He will also complete quests and make allies (NPCs). The game will also feature a storyline along with some small bonus mini games.
The game is finally come to a point where its feature expectations has gone beyond my ability to program. Current development stage is to make an inventory database so the player can collect different items. In the future, players will be able to craft and exchange items online.
Target Aim - freeware
Compensation - being on the credit list. Allow to design one boss, special enemy, or ally of your own
Talent Needed:
-MMF2 programmer: add "inventory" to the game, and/or by using database to store and load the data from.
-pixel/2D artist: design, draw, and pixelizing objects
-level designer: design levels (must have MMF2 programming experiences)
-3D modeler: not really need right now, but might be useful in making low poly objects in the future
Team Structure:
-Jie Liu: 2D Artist, Programmer, and Musician
Snippets of story:
Games starts with our hero waking up, finds himself laying on the floor inside a crashed mother ship. Suffering form amnesia (unable to remember anything),
our hero walks around, picking up random objects which will slowly revealing of what actually happened to him and his crew.
As the story progresses, our hero finds his surviving teammates. Teammates have their own specialties and may contribute distinctively, for example: Mechanics will repair when your ship had been damaged, Scientists can invent/develop new technologies, Pilots can escort you in enemy combats, etc.
The ships can be upgraded and customized in many ways, for example: empty slots available on the ship can be filled with parts such as engine, battery, weapons etc.
I've been working on this game for months now. It's finally to a point where the game feature expectation has gone beyond my ability to program. One of the reason is that I don't have any experiences with utilizing database to store or load data. With a data base, this game can be brought up to a higher complexity such as having an inventory, NPC interactions, quests and more.
Thus, I've decided to make this post, hoping to convince other creative talents to team up with me on this project.
The stuff you made looks nice, but anyone who wants to join a game developing team would want more than "being on the credit list. Allow to design one boss, special enemy, or ally of your own". They would mostly like to be a partner in it and be seen on the creation of it instead of just being on the credits (at least that's my opinion )
This is *just* a question. Are those screenshots mockups or actual screenshots? That blue thing looks a lot like a charged shot from Rockman & Forte...
awesome game so far, but with a length of 2:30 and the same gameplay all the way though I sure hope you plan on changing the enemies every once and a while.
New video featuring the real scrolling engine (instead of objects falling towards you) which is more suitable for designing levels. Also, the screen is now elongated and is more optimal for top-down shoot'em up.
