I'm not fond of either the GDC or IGF, though. Indie games have changed so much over the years.

I'm not saying they're worse. Just.. different. I dunno. Soulful, yes. Pretty, hell yeah. But not exactly what I'm looking for. GDC politics is a pet peeve of mine, though. The man who started the GDC was a genius, but now, it's this.. commercial.. thing. *sigh* It's a lot like the Olympics. Like modern football. Sports. In 30 years, we'll see indie games with advertisements slapped all over them. I suppose I wouldn't care by then.
Heh, anyway, Nifflas is an indie legend. Praised by non-klikers far more than klikers. I've seen Knytt Stories covered by a few game magazines, it's no surprise his stuff is on TV at all.

But if there WAS anything Click shown on Tv My guess is it would've been Tormi, The new Satan Sam, Cavestory, Knytt Stories, or an incredibly small chance- Eternal Daughter.

as in news publicity? or commercial advertising?
because ive seen stuff before usually when a tech show or gaming show of some sort does a piece on indie games. shows like xplay, aots, and other shows on the G4 network have coverage of almost all major expos and conferences so stuff is always showing up. i dont remember any click games in particular though.
edit: G4 is a pay channel now so i only get to see what i can in podcast form.
A to B Basset was on Total PC Gaming magazine's DVD the other day Tenton Ninja also had a review in the same magazine, for which I helped with a bit of the art.

Mainland Europe seems to have a lot of indie gaming stuff. Most of the requests for my games come from France, Sweden (I think) and Australia which destroys my point completely
Cinematech on G4 showed Cave Jumper, Sam and a few others. Wish we had something like that here but good luck getting Sky to show something about games without it being a phone-in quiz show.

Psheh, and since when did I care? The game kicks ass.
That game kicks my ass. Can't beat that final boss. No siree. I can beat any GBA/DS/PSP Castlevania game with my eyes shut and get 100% completion (or 100.3% in Aria ). Just no CS

im on the last boss. lol. at least i think i am. the island core? i got it down to a smidgen of life and then died. i almost cried ;__;
it sucks cause you have to go through 2 bosses before the core without any health/missile restore or saves. must...beat...cavestory
I LOVE the final boss. The best strategy is to rely on Misery to make more of those orange hopping things to get Nachos (Experience ) and hearts just so you can keep your gun's level at 3 and your heatlh fair. Take out Sue first, and when your ready to take out the core, take out Misery before that. Then blast the Core with some rockets and your sword. Preferably the Machine Gun, but the sword is surprisingly good- you could use the MG though...
If you're talking about Doctor though, he's actually pretty easy. The first round, just keep hitting him with the MG while avoiding his swirly-blast by flying using the Jetpack or the MG pointed down at the ground (Must be level 3). The second round will be really easy if you still have rockets. If not, you're pretty much toast. just barrage him with rockets and BAM! That's it.
Hope I helped... somewhat.
Edit: Don't mean to gloat, but I've beat the final boss like, twice... or so. Misery and the doctor are kinda easy...

I've seen them everywhere. Hell, I've even seen a Biebersoft game in a Malaysian magazine. That one where you fling poo at people. Thankfully, that magazine went broke.
KNP was on a few gaming mags. Indie blogs, definitely. Most people outside the community seem to have the idea that MMF (2) is not the best app for making games, but have very dedicated people. ED, Noitu Love, I haven't seen anywhere, but Knytt Stories and that Hue game, I see a lot.
But yeah, there are all those little other games which I've never played making it somewhere.

There is a game called Underside made in MMF2 which plays a lot like cave story, that should have been up there. I'm suprised to *still* see people talking about Eternal Daughter. That game was made before I was last hanging around here, which was in 2003. Fun times.

if youre talking about hell, those are called secrets. they arent a part of the main story arc. -.-
*SPOILERS*
But the island crashes to the ground and everybody dies. It may be an ending, but it's not the only ending. Thinking in those terms, riding off the island on the dragon may make you miss 1/3 of the end of the game, but it does say the end and have the credits. Ballos is the true final boss. Sure, it may take extra work to get there, but he will be the last thing you face in the game if you make the right decisions. He's also by far the hardest,
tdc threads are never really interesting to begin with. mostly pointless like this one. and something more interesting comes up in that thread and the topic changes.
