I've been tinkering around with an isometric javascript engine recently and I wanted a bit of feedback on a few things...

I have an isometric landscape working (mainly for Firefox at the moment during the prototype stages but it may work in IE / Safari) and wondered what you guys thought of it... check it out here http://rhodesy.acsv.net/isometric

I have a landscape working with mousemapping, quite happy with that. You can raise a point by clicking on the points. (it gets a bit confused when tiles are raised at the edges of the map)

Also ignore the submit at the top left, its me just tinkering with PHP GD and tile smoothing...

...which lead to this: http://rhodesy.acsv.net/isometric/gd_fade_test.php, its tile edge smoothing... I've been playing with different styles for this, you can see an alternate here: http://rhodesy.acsv.net/isometric/gd_fade_test.php?dither=1

Also randomize the map by going here: http://rhodesy.acsv.net/isometric/gd_fade_test.php?random=1

It's all basiclly me just playing around with ideas at the moment, what I would like to do is take this further into an online war game, if anyones ever played Fallen Haven, think of that but online like WeeWar

I'd like to hear any feedback you have on my ideas.

Cheerio.

Very nicely done I've often considered making a game in Javascript but i've always come to the conclusion that it would be too easy to cheat.

I have, however, made a simple drum tracking application in it

Small update:

Had some spare time to work on this, so I decided to get a point and click system in.

http://rhodesy.acsv.net/move/index2.html

Has basic pathfinding, clicking a unit will display its movement area, then clicking a tile in that area will move the unit. Currently has no resetting in so you'll have to refresh to get another go
