It can be a normal pop/rock/rnb/etc music or a game music, just list them. I need some more music for me ipod
Some of my favorites:
Run DMC - Rappers Delight
Fatboy Slim - Push The Tempo
Panjabi MC - Jogi
Pantera - Walk
Paramore - Decode
Sia - Breath Me
Shantel - Şuşuleker
Hugh Marsh feat Mercan Dede - AB-I Hayat
I like most varietys of music, but it really depends what creative mood Im in. Working on something epic: Musical numbers, like at the moment I'm listening to the soundtrack of Wicked
If Im working on a fun, bouncy platform game or art it would be something more upbeat, less serious and fun, so probably something like the Polysics
I'll bet you you will like exactly 0% of the music I listen to.
DC Talk
Audio Adrenaline
Salvador
Hunt for Red October theme
Accordion Tribe
All kinds of TLOZ music, look up the Hyrule Symphony Orchestra versions
Batman Begins soundtrack
Les Miserables soundtrack (The one from the movie with Liam Neeson, not the musical. Only place I've been able to find it is youtube)
Schultze's ballad
Last Samurai Soundtrack
Some Weird Al stuff.
ANYTHING by Hanz Zimmer or John Williams.
For instance, The Tale of Victor Navorski
A few orchestrated Final Fantasy songs (even though I've never played an FF game in my life )
The Temptations
And then the standards like a few Metallica songs here and there and some Apocalyptica adaptations, Boston, some of Queen, and the White Room by Cream.
And that's only a fraction of the music I like to listen to. Like Adam, it usually depends on what I'm the mood to listen to. Sometimes it's depressing orchestra music, sometimes bouncy SMG music, etc.
Depends what I'm doing. Out on a hike then I listen to Cassetteboy, Mumiy Troll, the games soundtrack (with a little notebook to make notes on ), anything by Chris Huelsbeck.
My current working playlist has stuff like the Prodigy, Boc, Trey Parker, Brawl and Castlevania OSTs, Mr. Scruff, Lemon Jelly, Tangerine Dream... It all depends on what part of the game I'm working on.
You know what, I'd like to edit my list... I've suddenly remembered that I hate all Metallica music except No Leaf Clover. The Apocalyptica adaptations are still in though.

Your ISP banned Youtube videos? Wtf, censorship much?
Youtube went mad and banned a lot of UK viewers to view US content or something. Not sure on the details but it's only affected me once (tried to listen to Heartbreaker after South Parks' Fishsticks episode).

Not just the UK. I think it's actually a copyright thing. You know how the RIAA gets.

I use to listen to them when I was youngness
!
Oh and Mr. Green, that's coolbeans! Some of my favorite stuff to listen to when drawing or programming is classical/orchestral music. Those soundtracks I mentioned especially, but there are a lot of others in my iTunes library I didn't mention.
Ok, don't laugh..lol...no, I really don't care but:
THE POLICE
The Beatles
Rolling Stones
Lynard Skynard
R.E.M.
Radiohead
Enya
Kansas
Chuck Berry-yes, I know, but I swear I'm 16!>_<
Queen
The Cranberries
This list could go on forever, but anything from the 80's down I like.

Good list. Fond of The Cranberries, Enya, Beatles, Police and Queen meself! Enya's March of the Celts inspired me so hardcore.
I have a very broad music taste, as long as the band uses at least 1 guitar, a bass and drums. This means lots of stuff from Rock to Death Metal - so here are some good examples of awesome music
Also, due to prejudice and such, i feel i should point out that i do NOT worship satan and i do NOT condone violence (except in video games )

Thanks! Not to offend anyone, but today's so-called "music" is nothing but...ahem... crap.
(Gasp!) At least the old bands such as The Beatles, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton...etc... had actual talent, now-a-days (it seems) you don't have to be able to sing worth a darn in order to be able to make it to the "big screen." They just use Synthesizers
to change their voice, or add some special "wah-wah" effect. I know, if I've offended anyone, I'm really sorry- that's just my view. I'm not saying that EVERY newbie band is junk, because there are some really good ones out there!
I guess I'm just a redneck.

agreed. how about those dime-a-dozen skanks with big jugs that all sound the same and don't even write their own music (and the ones that complain that they write their own but only write crappy lyrics that have one catchy rhyme repeated 12 times). or those wannabe punk bands that think they're gods gift to music because their on the top of the charts (and pretty much have destroyed the overall message punk was trying to convey in the first place). or disney chanell crap like the jonas brother or britney spears or hannah montana? or those whiney little popular kids that say they listen to "everything" just because they listen to the popular mix channel.
fun fact, in music study, pop music is everything that isn't considered classical. think about that.
problably the only newer bands that are getting anywhere in the charts that i actually like are muse (and dumb kids like their worst songs, *ahem*supermassive blackhole*ahem*)and lamb of god.
ive been listening to alot of kaki king lately.
megadeth~!
muse
in flames
slayer
this video is just lawl
sorry, i was in a metal mood tonite. ill tone it down a bit.
leo kottke
marshall tucker band
country sucks nowadays too. dont forget that.
ill finish with the beatles
(i feel like a tool for posting let it be, but hell, its a great tribute video, leave me alone.)
I was trying to keep my list short, unlike Chloe It's good to see others can appreciate awesome musicians like Megadeth and Slayer They should've been on my list too, but as i said - i was trying to keep it short
I totally agree. (I absolutely HATE the Jonas Brothers!! Along with all the other Disney crap.) People like that only seem to get famous because they've got the money.
("and the ones that complain that they write their own but only write crappy lyrics that have one catchy rhyme repeated 12 times")
I really laughed at this, good point! They take lyrics; or are influenced from other bands, pick and choose their lyrics and write another song that's just as bad.
I don't know if that's even half-way true, but it sure seems it! That's my hypothesis on how today's songs are written. ...Natural Selection...?)
Ok, I could go on all day complaining 'bout these new "bands".
I'll have to look into LOG and Muse more, I haven't really listened to much of their music, but they are good from what I hear!

they are both very good. that video i posted for muse is a good start.
the most offensive thing to hear is people who dont write their own music, or ignorantly stand by and let people butcher their already shitty music call themselves "artists". dictionary.com lists that as "a person used to carry out the designs of another; a dupe." actually thats the definition for "tool", but you get my point.

Hehe, yeah I've listened to a lot of metal especially black/death/doom metal except I only listen as I enjoy the sound waves they produce not necessarily as I agree with their views/beliefs.

Like everyone been saying I've been listening to music that is based off my game I am currently working on.
For example I've been listening to alot of Robin Beanland and Grant Kirkhope's music tracks for the N64 era.
Although then I've been walking around town, I'll stick on the new JulienK album or Innerpartysystem album.

I haven't really listened to Chuck Berry before, do you know any good albums I could check out?
Drum n bass & Dubstep mostly these days :] Although never pass up abit of Rise Against or the stuff Topher mentioned!
Chase & Status, Scratch perverts, Logistics. Saw Chase & Status at Custard Factory in Birmingham last night/morning and they played a wicked drum n bass remix of RATM - Killing in the name of. Was pretty epic.

I am wearing a rise against TeeShirt right now.
I forgot all my old favorites like the misfits, the adicts, social distortion, the ramones, the clash, blanks 77, yeah! More FTW!
Your just jealous that you're not as awesome as me.
(And my megaman avatar )
@Miss Chloecakes- Totally. They just act as the puppets, while the
contractors pull their strings. Apparently they'll never learn.
@Alastair john jack-
I actually don't have any of his albums, just a couple CD's with
hits from the 50's, and there happens to be some of his songs on there.
I would recommend "20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection - The Best Of Chuck Berry"
because it has the most popular songs on there: Johnny B. Goode, Let it Rock, Roll Over Beethoven,
and a bunch of other cool songs.
Listening to these guys album at the mo too, buncha old school friends. Used to be in an earlier band with em too... Shoulda stuck with them good times and such. infact the lead singer guy used to always pair up with me for any musical stuff, our styles really blended. but then I stopped playing guitar and now I'm pants really can't play guitar to save my life now.
I listen to mostly classic rock, as most of the modern crap isn't worth looking at. I listen to a lot though, from The Who and Led Zeppelin, to The Sugarhill Gang, and everything in between. Collective Soul is a really good band, they got some good stuff =D
At the moment, for some reason, I'm listening to the South Park movie OST on loop. Without the crappy remix tracks. I think I'm trying to memorise the lyrics for whatever reason.
Bit of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Nirvana, Beethoven. There are some rare grassroots hip-hop numbers which I really appreciate. Ennio Morricone is excellent. The Sex Pistols, the Jam, I'm bored of lists.
Its tiresome trying to list or define what music you like to listen to. I will just throw my 2 cents in and say that for the most part, I listen to anything I feel has musical, emotional, technical, brutal skills and feeling. With that said, I listen to a heap of things from some dance and drum/bass to J-rock/J-pop to rock to utterly brutal death/technical/grind/black metal.
I used to be so very narrow in my reasons for liking music and sticking to one genre but eventually I grew some musical maturity and learnt to listen to songs I appreciate for the art that they are rather than what category they fit in. I'm far past saying "If its not [genre] it's shit!"
And a few random album recommendations
Pendulum - In Sillico (dance/drum&bass)
The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die (theres a lot of shit but like 3 or 4 brilliant songs)
Alestorm - Captain Morgan's Revenge (lololol pirate metal)
Unexpect - In a Flesh Aquarium (wierd creepy strange folky carnival gypsy death metal)
The Prodigy - Invaders Must Die (theres a lot of shit but like 3 or 4 brilliant songs)
Abso-bloody-lutely. Fighter Beat (especially), Omen and that Hospital track are ace but I can't listen to the full album. Some tracks are painful! Just found an old backup CD with Carmen Queasy on, its by one of the Prodigy bunch. It's all very good
I second all the Neil Young/classic rock recommendations. I wish I had more exposure to Frank Zappa.
A friend recently made a mix CD of the 20+ years of Slayer for me, and I'm digging it.
I listen to The Dead Kennedys regularly. Also, Sonic Youth (either their very old or relatively new stuff) and a band called The International Noise Conspiracy; their live show from the Oslo Jazz Festival is a true keeper.
A friend of mine does live music show recordings here in our city, so I hear a lot of local music thanks to him. Some local standouts for me are Heroin U.K., Bad Liquor Pond, The Degenerettes, and sometimes Arboretum.
Anyone ever hear of Focus? Here's a live taping of one of their most famous songs, with the tempo amped up. Truly unforgettable song that I'll not likely forget:

I agree the album was really hit and miss. I think of all tracks I really dig the title track, Omen and Black Smoke (simple but has a good beat). It doesn't really overall feel as layered and done up as some of their older stuff, some of the songs are just terrible loops of crap. Ah well
I usually just listen to whatever's on the radio, if I happen to be in the car or it's 8 pm on Friday. Except for country, because I hate country. I also like video game music.
